Strength:
The Energy sub is great on movies and music. Since it is un-ported, it can go deeper than most ported subs of the same size. You can really feel the kick drums on both rock and jazz.
Weakness:
The only weakness is that you will have to secure everything in the room if you turn up the volume! I had previously owned a JBL sub and was unsatisfied. It was ok on movies but very boomy on music. I heard this sub at a home theatre show and immediately knew that this was the replacement I was looking for. Similar Products Used: JBL PS-10 |

I recently received this sub by mail order from Hardin's. After allowing for break-in, I can now safely say I got a great deal at $404 shipped. While I must admit that there are much better 12 inch subs on the market, I challenge anyone to find one THIS cheap that sounds even remotely good. I found that the ES-12 goes down to a nice 24HZ and has a whole bunch of knobs that allow you to tweak the bass to your liking for either music or HT. The one gripe I have with the sub is that it is not as musical sounding as I hoped. It gets the job done very well for HT, but only above average in the music department. I would recommend the sub to anyone on a budget, that wants a reliable 12 incher that can kick out the bass, but will not bankrupt you. The four speaker rating is for performance, but if you consider the $400 price tag -- five speakers would seem appropriate. |

I recently ordered this sub from American Home Theater for $400 including shipping. I was looking at other subs from Acoustic Research, Klipsch, and B&W. I can say that the other 12 inch subs couldn't touch the Energy for price/performance. This side-firing sub has 4 knobs on the back that allow you to customize the bass, and match them to the rest of your system. It also has the capability to wire you main speakers directly to the sub. This sub shines equally for music or Home Theater. Five Stars. |

I got this sub for $320 shipped, and I'm very pleased with it. It's matched with 4 NHT Superzero's, and the sound/boom is absolutely amazing. The 4 adjustment level knobs in the back make it easy to match any speakers. Much better than other subs near or over this price range.I was originally going for the Energy Take 5 system or the Rolk RM5400, which were both about $800. However, my system now sounds much better than both of them, at a lower price! I got the 4 Superzero's for $350, and the sub for $320, for a total of around $700. True, I'm missing a center channel, but it's not needed since I'm more into music than HT. |

I bought the ES-12 1&1/2 ago and It KICKS BASS!!!!I added the ES-12 to Bose 301's for music and 5 Bose 100's for movies with a Harmon/Kardon AVR 30. ES-12: $450; 301's:$350; 100's: $250 and AVR30: $600. For $1500 this system filled the small "Dormlike" rooms I have lived in since I had it with tremendous sound. When I added the ES-12 it brought everything that came out of my speakers to another level. If you want FEAL the sound comming out of your stereo, Buy this SUB. |

I have this sub for six months now and I am very pleased with it.It works well with my B&K ref20 pre and my Mission 753 speakers, giving tight punches with Home Theater and stereo. |

I own and use 2 ES12s on my H/T system. They fit my system perfectly (for me, not for my neighbors). They add the deep bass that my system was previously weak on. My System:Boston Acoustics (BA) VR970 fronts |

This sub a high cost (900 can) and a low performance sub compared to a paradigm ps-1200 wich is 300 $ lower . The Sound dosn't punch , it roll over and over .... |
