This sub rocks! Worth the extra money, if you have the exls8, go try the exls12, you wont beleave the difference. The exls10 is to close to the exls8 in spec's and performance, so if you have a choice, get the 8 or 12. Ce caisson n’a pas à rougir de la concurrence des Sunfire ou Velodyne HGS. Il ne peut prétendre atteindre le même volume sonore, mais il n’est pas en reste quand à la qualité et la profondeur des extremes graves qu’il produit.

Que se soit en Hifi, ou Home Cinema, je recommande vivement ce caisson, qui j’en suis persuade ne peu vous decevoir.

I recently acquired two sub ES12-XL.

This sub does not have to redden of the competition of Sunfire or Velodyne HGS. It cannot claim to reach the same sound volume, but it is not remains about it when with the quality and the depth of the extremes bass which it produces.

That is in Hifi, or Home Cinema, I highly recommend this sub, which I am persuade little to disappoint you.

Packs a nice punch,definately clean bass when watching movies.

Has a little bit of rolloff.

I have had this thing since '97.
It sounds sweet,packs a lot of vloume and wall shaking,ornament breaking ,Christmas card flying BASS.
I have gotten in shi@% more with this sub than any other so that to me constitues deep heavy bass.

Good for music and movies

This sub has great response. It has moderately tight bass, and boomy bass for the 5.1 audio enthusist. I am very pleased with this subwoofer's ability to perform with the more powerful subwoofers i.e Definitive Technologys 15TL+ (500 watt amp), Energy only has a 150 watt amp but it does just as well. I generally set my sub to 2-3 out of 10 on the pre-amp selector. Plenty of bass!! Nonetheless, the piano finish looks sweet.

Good looking, good build quality

Weak, can produce unwanted sound.

If you want an average subwoofer, this is fine. But if you want a good one, get Paradigm subs. Paradigm subs sound much better in music and home theater. ES 12XL can hardly produce any rumble at all.
