Strength:

Excellent power, easy to setup, good price

Weakness:

This is my first home theatre sub Ive ever used, and I must say I am happy with it. I listened to a Cerwin Vega, Sony, and Yamaha sub at Best Buy which had similar size and features, and the JBL was the one who could go the loudest without buzzing. Since hooking it up to my stereo, I feel I got my moneys worth. It puts out excellent bass without actually letting you know its there. I have it behind a table, and if I didnt point it out to anyone, they wouldnt know where the bass was coming from. Excellent product for the price. Although Im sure the 12 incher is as good, but considering how good the 10 inch is, I couldnt justify spending the extra $100.

Strength:

Tight, clean bass.

Weakness:

I just switched from two Infinity loudspeakers to 5 matched JBL surround speakers and the PB-10 sub. It's amazing! The bass I get from this sub is much more clearer than the loudspeakers I had. I originally was going to get the PSW D110, but after reading the reviews I called JBL myself to verify the problems they were having. JBL informed me that the PSW D110 did infact have a history of problems and wouldn't recommend purchasing that model (PSW-D110). They assured me that the PB-10 is a much better sub. They were right. If you are looking for a great sub at a great price, get the PB 10. I got a great deal @ http://wholesaleproducts.com $195 + $20 s/h. Enjoy

Strength:

Excellent sound...Nice deep bass. Great looking enclosure. Floor-Firing.

Weakness:

None that I can find.

I purchased this sub at Best Buy earlier this month, and I must say I am impressed! Completely natural sound. I tried out both the 10 and 12 inch models, and really couldn't justify spending the extra $100.00, since I have this in a relatively small space. Especially nice for listening to the shotgun blasts in "Army of Darkness" THX.

Strength:

Great for BOTH ht and music. A musical sub, reproduces bass with more warmth and texture than other subs. Well built, attractive looking sub, with quality looking components.

Weakness:

None so far

I was definitely on a budget when I bought the KLH 10" 120 watt sub for $129. It wasn't bad for HT, didn't care for it for music. Became too distorted. And it made a lot of popping noises when in auto mode, because it turned itself off and on a lot.

This new JBL is great. It ssem to be a very versatile sub, which I appreciate. It performs well on both music and for HT applications. I can actually hear bass tones, texture, and string bass, not just thud or boom. And I can hear it even at low volumes which is cool. So if I am listening to whatever mode, dvd, cd, TV, I still hear bass, but it is not at all obnoxious.

I was watching the baseball playoffs last night, and only when listening at low vloumes, and when there was only commentary from the announcers, did the sub ever turn off. But when a commercial came on that had bass, it was back on. And unlike the KLH, you don't hear it pop when it goes off. The KLH was very annoying in that matter.

Maybe my only complaint with the JBL is that it is always on. You have to unplug it for it to be off. And you can hear it hum ever so slightly if you stand next to it, when everything else is silent. I think the PB-12 has an on/off switch. But as long as it is not using much power when in standby, I guess this is not a big deal.

For the price, this sub is very hard to beat. I love that it is downfiring, so my 1 year old can't poke the speaker with her inquisitive fingers. The sound also seems to be better diffused this way. I swear I could hear exactly where the sound was coming from with the KLH. The JBL is better in this respect. I think this sub will open a lot of people's eyes, because its price is good, and its performance will rival those over the $500 threshold. An excellent performer all around. Very pleased so far.

Got this sub from dynadirect.com for $196 + $21shipping. Great bargain. I got this sub for my small room, and it's great. The sub has a lot of power, but doesn't need to be turned up to hear the bass.
