Strength:
Super bass especially for cinema.
Weakness:
A little too boomy for some music, especially rap. I am new at the home theater thing and started out with a Yamaha in the box system. It is not a bad system for the beginner but it didn't take long for me to want more. I have made many moves and have basically replaced all of the inital componets I purchased at first. I think the most impressive is the JBL PB10. This an awesome piece. It almost reminds one of artilley shells exploding when watching some special effects in the movies, it literally rocks the house. Sounds great Easy set up Looks great
Weakness:
Not one so far As soon as I plugged it in I noticed a huge difference in all areas from music, to movies to video games. It is a very easy set up, took probably two minutes and adjusting the levels is easy. Similar Products Used: KLH Sony |

Strength:
clean, tight, and accurate bass
Weakness:
none, except it rattles the dry wall off the studs i hooked up the sub and the thing just sounded great. it has no audible distortion that i can here. The pb-10 makes the cleanest, tightest, most accurate base you can find for the money.ive read the review complaining of the one LED being less bright but mine is fine and the auto on and off switch works perfect. I bought the PB10 over a year ago. It recently began to hum funny when first plugged in, and blowing fuses. I contacted JBL, who had me return the sub, no questions asked, and they sent me a brand new one within a couple weeks (despite behind beyond the warranty time). I will always buy JBL because of this excellent customer service and standing behind their products (in addition to the great sound quality). |

Strength:
very good price help me hear the sound that i never hear before from BOSS SYSTEM.
Weakness:
little muggy what a great price man! i couldnt believe i got it so cheap. okok. i recently bought the BOSS AM10 series II because of the price($650). but after i hook it up, i was so disappointed about it, first, its not good, i mean BAD for music, its sound like those crapy speakers, but i got the cheap stereo cable, it might be the problem. Moreover thats the main weakness of this system, the BASS. I REALLY COULDN'T HEAR ANY LOW FREQUANCY from that HUGE BASS MODULE. DANM IT. i tried to bear with it, but after a while, i couldn't stand such name brand and high price system sound like that, Man!!! i go online and read allllllll the reviews that i can find. then i go to J&R, even though they didn't list the cheapest price. i ask them for the new version with the ON and OFF switch, and 2001 on the box(the number is really small). then i got what i want. i got home, hook up to my Panasonic receiver(i know i know, a huge mistake bought this receiver) with $20 monster cable(not a really good one) and my BOSS system, it become 5.2 system. it does sound little muggy, but it shake my room. come on, for this kind of price, i was surprise the quality is better than i expected. i just turn it to auto and i DONT have any HUMMING problem like other people described. overall, its a very good sub and good price for entry level. Strength:
Price strong deep base good with 5.1 sound
Weakness:
to boomy at times which causes distortion I have been into audio for a while now. I know a considerable abount about audio and find the pb10 to be excellent. It excels when it comes to wathing movies. It work very well with my northridge speakers and sony reciever. It is good with some music, but it is a little too boomy at times. I would prefer if it had crsiper base. This baby shakes my whole house, the only problem is it stop getting louder when my speakers are 1/2 way to full volume. In most cases that does not matter though. For those of you who like watching movies with movie-theater base, and like to listen to music casually, this is for you. Strength:
Shakes the floor, Puts the theater right in your room, Bass goes through walls. Deepest and most fullest bass sound I have ever heard.
Weakness:
Rattles glasses in the kitchen and shakes the windows... I was looking at other subwoofers with kind of the same characteristcs as the JBL PB10 but none of them compares pound for pound with the power that this subwoofer can draw. I live in an apartment complex and people both above and below constantly get angry at the large bass that is produced with this Sub. It is a very nice compliment with the Pioneer speakers that I have in use for a surround package and the Pioneer 110x6 receiver that pushes it. I have the auto power off model of the PB10 and I havent had a problem hearing any humming noises as of yet. One of the best purchases I have ever made |

Strength:
LOOKS nice, isnt heavy, and the black color rules! =)
Weakness:
Hardware, pressed wood on the inside (not really great for music), overpriced, and the best thing is there are so many other choices out there... All around its a decent sub. If it was the last choice I had. One thing that found that when I opened it the guts have no glory. Third and even forth party hardware is used. My company is contracted to do consumer reports for 1100 different companies including "Consumer Report" since 1989. Similar Products Used: What I suggest for this price range is Klipsch, Nakamichi, or even the sub that Sharper Image sells for $100 |
