Strength:
Produces great bass and sounds great with the JBL NSP1 system.
Weakness:
Had it since April and it suddenly died for no apparent reason. Overall it produces great sound but I agree on making sure you have a good warranty! |

Strength:
Deep strong bass and easy hookup to the LFE.
Weakness:
None This sub does well with movies and music. It does take a little time to place it in the right location to keep the boominess controlled when using with music. After the right location is found it will outperform almost anything in its price range. This sub also looks good and does not take a huge amount of space in the room for placement. Using the lfe input makes hooking it up a snap. If you do get hum from it with no signal source to the lfe you might try using better shielded cable since the signal levels are low and sucseptable to RFI and other noise sources. Computers for example. The cable can act as an antenna and pick up these unwanted signals. Similar Products Used: Cerwin Vega, Cambridge Soundworks |

Strength:
Large, flat surface is a good drink holder, bass is incredible.
Weakness:
HUGE! Of course, if you get a 12" sub, you understand this. 250 watt 12" sub. For $260. With great sound...show me a better deal. This thing puts out so much bass I don't see a need for anything bigger. My brother had the same model for over a year and it made his crappy speakers sound wonderful. I already have a good setup, so the overall sound is badass. I can't recommend this enough. Similar Products Used: None |

The PB12 was supposed to be the final addition to my system (Yamaha receiver, all JBL speaker setup) but when I received it I also had the popping sound that came with it - also, I could get little to no bass response from it. The baby was, in effect, DOA. I returned it but had to pay to ship it back as I purchased it online - these suckers are HEAVY and shipping was a good $30, which I lost out on. I've heard similar stories of this model being dead-on-arrival...if you can, test it out in the store or try and steer clear from this one, IMO. |

Strength:
It looks nice.
Weakness:
Everything: Ok so I turn it on and the stupid annoying lights come on. So then I turn it up and play the scene from Independence Day where buildings are being blown up,and the sub rumbles for a second and then starts destorting like mad, so i turn it down and there is not as much distortion but I can hardly here the base over my Pioneer towers. Strength:
Strong Bass when needed.
Weakness:
Reliability: Failed after 10 months. Moved the furniture around, put in the Blue Man Group Audio DVD for a sound check and... nothing but static coming out of the sub. Gieger counter noise comes to mind. JBL's customer service number is a phone service which redirected me to a "local" service center - 3 hour drive away. I never needed to turn the levels past mid-range, so I know I didn't over-task the driver. If the circuit board overheated, JBL needs to offer a recall. A lot of bang for the buck, but expect some sizzle, too. If you bought one and it hasn't failed yet, good for you. Keep the receipt handy, though. If it fails, hope that it does so within the first year. Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
It's everything you'd want and expect for the price.
Weakness:
Those damn lights. The PB12 is a great sub. It features a lot of those "fine tuning" qualities some people might like, me for example. The sound that is produce isn't boomy, it's tight. Very important thing, as I listen to music with a lot of low frequencies. Those lights might bother you, but I personally don't care since in my living room, not my bedroom. If push comes to shove, their is an on/off button the back. Similar Products Used: A few Definitive Tech. Subs. |
