Since I maintain completely seperate Audio and Hometheater set ups, I viewed the subs out there with price in mind. I am thorughly satisfied with this speaker in a mixed array of B&W DM301 fronts, NHT ACS1 Center and Kenwood 4 inch midrange general purpose speakers for surround. Features are plenty , crossesover easy to matach a mixed array , and has a useful remote, (to program universals for the one control freaks). Adequate power and earth shaking in average size rooms. |

Strength:
price, power, versatility, remote
Weakness:
could have cleaner tighter bass. I bought this sub from Crutchfield in Feb. 99. I thought the price ($199) was hard to beat with the size, power, and features this sub provides. It is paired with B&W 301's and B&W CC1 center. It is soon to be paired with Platinum Audio PT808's. I have it connected to a Pioneer Elite DD & DTS receiver. Watching DVD movies with it is great. Using a sub out and Monster Sub cable is highly recommended. When I upgraded to this connection a noticable increase in depth and volume was immediatly evident. If listening to music this sub is more than good enough for bass if you place bass output at correct levels without coloring unrealistic bass levels on your receiver. Some day I hope to upgrade to a Velodyne, but until then this sub suites me fine. |

Strength:
remote control good looks features
Weakness:
no bottom end basss too boomy at first, this product has features that sell itself.Take it home, play some deep forest soundtracks through it and you will have to wait around forever.... if you want bass below 40hertz!Whilst this sub has great all round bass I dont believe it can be classified as a SUB-woofer.Not to mention the un-relaibility of it's display panel... mine has been back to the service agents a number of times for replacement LED's!!! Incredibly deep, rich bass for the price. Awesome entry-level subwoofer for your system. This is easily the best money we've ever spent on our home theater. . .it enhances everything that we play, from Dave Matthews to The Matrix DVD! If you dont have a sub in your home theater, you need to see what you are missing, and this unit is a great way to go. Bass level control w/ remote, smaller size, easy instillation a plus. |

I purchased this sub from Crutchfield for $199.00 4 months ago. For the money I spent that gives me 100 watts for power, this is a bargain. It has fancy remote too. I love it. |

Strength:
good low end Bass... great crossovers for good integration
Weakness:
distorts on really loud movie bass (LFE) i have listened to sound tests with it and and it reached more like 25Hz... with considerable volume i might add.. i have a Bass cd, its got a bass warning on it .. its really crappy music with huge low bass tones that are clean as anything... it handles them all with that presure on the ears fealing... even some sounds wehre i can feel the bass in my ears and not really hear it.
