Strength:
Price, Phase switch, Volume control, Crossover frequency control
Weakness:
total power I was putting together a system on a budget and this sub fit the bill. Granted, you won't get the power of more expensive subs (this one has an 80 watt amp), but with the right placement in the room this sub will shake the floor. I located it in a corner next to my couch. It made a big difference compared to when it was in the center of the wall. Similar Products Used: none |

Strength:
Decent bass for a small home theatre set-up
Weakness:
Auto "on" feature sensitivity finicky - audible "hum" from built in amp when turned on It took me several days to get my home theatre set up and configured (sound wise), and the subwoofer was the most frustrating. When watching DVD, the "gain" on the sub has to be turned up considerably to get the "auto on" feature to kick in, but by then the bass is too 'boomy'. So I just turn the sub to always "ON" instead of auto to get the levels where I want without it cutting 'in and out'. Once I did that I was able to get everything sounding pretty good. I used the "Terminator 2 Ultimate DVD Edition" to help me 'balance' the sound. It's a good sub for a budget system and overall I'm pleased, but with a minimal 'thumbs up'. Great sub! This sub has many features for the low price. A variable frequency, volume (of course) and a phase switch to reverse the signal or something like that. Being a 8" has its limits becasue you can occasionally hear a pop if you have it up to loud. This is a great sub for a beginner, or cheap person like myself. But for the price you can't beat it. $80 at Price Costco. |

It sounds like sh*t
Weakness:
It sounds like sh*t This is pretty much the worst sub ever, espicially since its from KLH and its a huge 8"! This pumps out so much bass I couldn't even feel it! Maybe this thing rocks! Hats off to the worst speaker company ever who only gets positive reviews on here because the guy who owns KLH writes them! Anything, from KLH sucks ass. Even there webpage says if you like good sound don't buy KLH. I mean COMON! Similar Products Used: Tons |

Strength:
price only (auto shut off, other standard features per subw)
Weakness:
entry level only $80 at costco not bad, but amp is not very powerful, bass not terribly full, but there. Great for entry level sub or work room/office sub. NOT for serious listening to anything. Similar Products Used: Boston, MK subs (far superior) |
