Strength:

Very Loud, Hit low and high with no lack in sound I could hear. Shakes the foundation. great price!!

Weakness:

Speaker is down firing so carpet can muffle the sound a bit. A piece of plywood under it eliminates this if you have carpet though. needs a grill to protect the sub on the bottom from damage

I have had this sub for a bit and am blown away by it's performance! I have heard klipsch was one of the best in home audio for the money and now I know it to be true. This sub will go very low, and mid-bass sounds great too. It is a little dominant over the other speakers I have(cerwin vega) but you just turn the sub down a little and it is perfect. I like the fact that it will shake everything in my home with ease and not break a sweat. I upgraded from a 100 watt Onkyo sub that I thought sounded great until I heard what this thing done to my home theater. I am sure you will find better subs out there of course but what eveyday person has 1000 dollars or more to spend on a sub? Not me.....but if you are looking for a sub you will never have to worry about any problems with, and want room shaking(house shaking) sound from, at a reasonable price then this is the way to go. best 400 dollars I ever spent on home audio!

Strength:

Very tight, clean bass Gets low and powerful Looks great

Weakness:

Didn't sound great with music, although I still need time to work with it.

I have had this sub for a short period of time. It is in a 15x12 room with a 7.1 THX setup. At first I was dissappointed with it when I listened to music. It didnt seem to hit the way I wanted it to, even after many adjustments. After watching a movie with it, I was blown away. While I know there are a lot better subs out there. Probably not for the amount your going to spend on this. It hit every different frequency with smooth transitions. I had to turn the power level down after it did start to take over the other speakers. After that my home theater was complete. I had been using a JBL sub that I look back on now as being so sloppy and unable to get very low bass as the Klipsch does.

Strength:

Great mid range bass reproduction. Solid cabinet.

Weakness:

Doesn't go low without a HUGE amount of distortion. Many DVDs contain frequencies that this sub in unable to reproduce.

This is a decent, sub, but not great. Actually I was a little bit surprised that the reviews were as good as they are. I owned and used this sub for approximately one year. At first, I was in awe of it. I was upgrading from a a powered 6" sub and when compared to the KSW12, well there was no comparison. It went deeper, hit harder, and generally sounded better. I was happy, for awhile anyway. I started to notice a few thing that bugged me. Like low bass was really distored and music was boomy. Granted at first I didn't know the difference, but after doing some research, I know that bass isn't supposed to sound like that. Sometimes it is almost like it is playing underwater. Lots of mud. A sub should not dominate your HT experience, and this one does. That is NOT a compliment. Needless to say, I have developed a bass fixation so I upgraded to an SVS. Those who have written that you can't buy anything like it in the price range obviously do not know what they are talking about. In conclusion, this is a good sub, but not great. I have certainly heard worse, and a beginner that is looking for punch over clarity might be very happy with this purchase. But that said, there are better subs in this range.

Strength:

Bang for your buck.

Weakness:

Downfiring speaker has no cover and when moving it's easy to put your fingers on the cone because you can't see it when you grab hold.

My room is 15X13 and this sub doesn't break a sweat. Crystal clear and shakes everything. I set all my speakers with an S.P.L. so it's setup correctly and when it's time to rumble things rumble and when it's time for good clean bass (like music)there's good clean bass. I love it.

Strength:

Lots of bass! It looks nice! It is nice;)

Weakness:

If you compare this subwoofer with other subwoofers in the same price-class, you will notice that it weights half of what the others do. I think that is a little weakness - because some ppl might think it is poorly build...perhaps?

I got this sub for only ~600$ (It costs ~900$ usually - Norway is an expensive country:( ) - But anyway. I bought this sub for my home theatre. And I must say it does its job really good. I think this subwoofer is really good for music as well.

Strength:

Lots of power.

Weakness:

Could not find any.

I had purchased the Klipsch sattelite speakers 2 yrs. ago and was using a sony 50 watt sub. After adding the KSW12 to complete and enhance my system, all I can say is WOW!!! 440watts of power and my 15X20 room rumbles and vibrates everything off the shelves. The sound couldn't be cleaner. I must say I've never been more pleased with a product as much as I have been with this KSW12.

Strength:

I have had this PwrdSub for 5 months and I love it. I haven't heard any feedback or for that matter any strange noises. AS for placement, well I must admit that I experimented in a couple of locations, and where I found the SWEET SPOT, was opposite of my front HT speakers near the back corner. The SUB is not exactly in the corner but 18" from the side wall and 12" from the back wall. Put it this way when those explosions and or any type of sonic boom happens, I feel it.

Weakness:

As for weaknesses I have found none. Not even the style is demeaning, in fact I was told by some of my friends that it even looks sexy.
