great, loud, low bass. omnipresence

great bass for any price, let alone for this price! i had the sunfire true sub, and it boomed, but I have limited placement options, and for $1000, I could not get it sound like $1,000 -- very localized. I took it back and got this one on a co-worker's advice, and I love it. the base spread out much more, and, though not quite as low, has a very clean bass for music, and great rumble on movies. recommend highly.

Awesome LFE effects, also pretty musical. Cannot beat the value.

Purchased 2 weeks ago from J&R.com(highly recommend). This sub replaces my 4 year old Klipsch SW10 which lacked the low end of the KSW 15. I compared the Mirage BPS150, the Velodyne CT120, and 150, also various Cambridge Soundworks models.I listened to the sub at 2 different local retailers who wanted $749 for the sub. After listening and reading reviews on this sub I was referred to J&R.com and saved $249. For the $500 I spent on my Klipsch I cannot say anything even compared for the value.I also preferred the downfiring design of the Klipsch which is the only reason I replaced my SW10 as it did not have one problem over the last 4 years I owned it.

I bought the entire Klipsch Reference-3 system. They sound perfect. I can't believe my CD music collection now. I also use them to listen to the digital Direct TV music channels, not to mention DVDs and Movies. They are so clear and crisp.

I read some reviews of people complaining about the slowness of the KSW-15. I can't imagine it sounding better. I suppose you could always upgrade to the RSW-15, but I have PLENTY of fast, hard hitting bass.

I listened to several other speaker systems, for example Bose, Sony, Infinity, Polk. I even listened to much larger speaker systems such as Paradigm that I have heard so much about. Paradigm didn't sound any better to me despite some of their HI-FI awards. I even had a salesman show me a $16,000 Mcintosh system and expected me to be totaly astonished.

I found a local Klipsch dealer and listened to the Reference 3 speakers. I was very impressed except for the $2300 price tag.

I decided to look on the internet for some prices since I had just previously saved $800 on a HDTV that same way. Low and behold I found www.acousticsounddesign.com with the lowest price, saving me about $700 over my local dealer. I called and ordered them immediately.

The only complaint I have is to Klipsch for not giving a warranty for ordering these speakers online. I am thankful that Acoustic Sound Design said they will warranty the speakers since Klipsch would not. Klipsch has some of the best speakers out there, but they need to wake up to the modern times. Some people don't even have access to a local Klipsch dealer. I have bought all sorts of things by mail and online and have had no problem. In fact, I don't have to deal with some arrogant salesperson that can't even run their own DVD or reciever.

If you don't have the Klipsch RF-3 system, get one as soon as possible. You won't be disapointed.

I DECIDED TO GET THE KSW-15. I WAS PLEASED I CHOSE THIS ONE.
THE LIFE THAT IT BROUGHT TO MY HT SYSTEM IS INCREDIBLE. I
USE TO USE LARGE MAINS FOR THE LOWS. ( STUPID ). YOU REALLY
HAVE TO GET A EFFICIENT SUB TO HANDLE THAT CHORE. ALL AND
ALL A GREAT PRODUCT.

Great Quality, Great Price, Excellent Sound

Weakness:

The Sub is outstanding for the price paid and met all my exceptations as far as quailty and sound. It was a graduation present from my Dad in which i have enjoyed for a bit now. I cant even count how many times my parents tell me to TURN DOWN THE BASS, when I'm at home!!!!! Since I'm a big PC Gamer and always want the best sound quaitly as well as the loundest and deepest bass production, the KSW-15 has out performed some of the best AR subs I have heard in the past as well as Cerwin Vegas.

I have the KSW-15 hooked up to my computers sound system which includes the Klipsch Pro Media v4.2, and the people at my dorm at SJSU are always happy to hear they're favorite musice loud and proudly delievered with great bass. I can reach 121 dB with both the ProMedia v4.2 and the sub..... plus I have the new SB AUDIGY X-Gamer 24-bit Digital Sound Card which already makes the sound filtered, crip and very clean. The sound I can make; by gaming, movies or music, will shake one wing of my hall which is 3 stories high and I am on the top floor in the middle of the hall way. So I can flood the hall, about 100feet long(50 feet in each direction), with good bass.

I'm loving this sub and recommend anyone on a budget to get the sub, or if your looking for a great sub just GET IT. IT'LL BLOW YOU AWAY.

Weakness:

Doesn't go very deep for a 15"

I bought this unit as a clearance demo and wasn't really able to try it out. I was hoping for really deep bass to fill what the Mirages couldn't. Unfortunately, I found the Mirages to go slightly deeper and are MUCH more musical than the Klipsch.

However, there's no denying that the Klipsch makes up for it in sheer decibels. My 2 Mirage BPS-150i's (I don't use the BPS-100 anymore) are about equal in output to the one Klipsch.

To it's credit, the dials on the back feel rock solid, and it almost like you could just drop the sub and it would still keep chugging away.

Don't look here if you need really deep bass. But if you want something that'll really rattle the walls (and even shake a cement floor), then this is it. I was even able to fill a fair sized restaurant with good bass from this unit.

All in all, great for the price I paid. Not good at full price.

Powerful, a real thumper

Weakness:

none

I was looking for a more compact speaker system, as room space saving is an issue, and I wanted something that could stand up to the very high volumes I play rock music. My Sansui 9090DB receiver runs the Klipsch 15" sub and 2 Klipsch 2-ways as satellites. This arrangement kicks some serious ass. Adjustment knobs on the rear of the unit allow me to perfectly tailor the low end to my liking. And the unit never pops or craps out like other subs I've listened to at high volumes. For the person looking for a subwoofer/satellite arrangement, this set up is hard to beat, especially for the price.

Strength:

I feel the earth move under my feet

Weakness:

don't use near known earthquake fault lines

size does matter. my previous forays into subs were products that asked 7" and 8" woofers to do a man's job.

But no matter how fast they flapped their little cones, nothing beats 15", unless it's 18"!

Subwoofers get expensive fast. You can easily double the price of the klipsch and keep going, but you aren't going to achieve double the performance. and if your affluence is in lockstep your age, you will definitely appreciate the Klpsch's relatively svelte 50lb weight vice those 90lb+ monsters that some companies are selling.

as prior reviewers have noted, its not the klipsch that limits the sound, it's your surroundings. On my Pioneer, there is a bass management test for setting the LFE max output. When I started increasing the db, looking for the point where the subwoofer begins to distort, I found that I could not reach that limit, I had to back off before i reached it because the dishes were rattling out of the china cabinet!

I believe that Klipsch provides more sound for the buck than any other manufacturer out there.

recommended.

Strength:

Powerful deep bass, auto on/off actually works

Weakness:

A bit slow for fast music. This baby literally moves when you crank it!

Great for home theater and slower music.

This sub might be a little too lite for the power it pushes.
I have tile and if I play a CD with some hard bass my sub
will probably move about 3 inches (you can imagine it's thumping pretty hard). Overall this is a great sub for the price. Get a good cable and Y-connetor and you are sure to enjoy this sub. People with heart conditions should consider the KSW-12 instead.

Strength:

The entire system blew us away. The bass fills the entire room just right. We never knew watching movies or listening to music could be made more enjoyable by purchasing up to date equiptment. When listening to music this sub can pound out the bass.

Weakness:

None Found

We recently began re-decorating the family room. After visiting a couple local stores we searched on-line and lo and behold we found www.acousticsounddesign.com They ship out of Las Vegas, so not only did we save money on the system-no shipping of the product was involved.

The System includes:

Denon AVR-5800
Denon DVM-3700
Klipsch KLF-20
Klipsch KLF-C7
Klipsch RS-3
Klipsch KSW 15
Monster Power Center HTS-2500
Energy Tempest for the back yard.

They included a 100 foot spool of Monster wire, a sub kit and a DVD install kit at no charge. I ran into a problem with the set up of the KSW 15 and they had an installer come the next day to get it right. Needless to say the system is unbelievable. The remote works everything. Watching DVDs with this speaker set up is really like "being at the movies". Even watching the television sounds better.
