The ksw 200 is a great sub in my opinion. It is not as "tight" as some better subs, but for $400 you can't get much better. I have listened to a lot of different types of music and several popular dvd's. They can match well, after you spend some time adjusting them to your set up. They matched my modest B&W 602's as well as my friends Take 5. They havent yet distorted or bottomed out. I tried a few other subs for a little more than $400, but they didnt sound good enough to trade in the klipsch. Mirage, paradigm, velodyne, Def tech pro sub, and polk. Granted they were all in the $400 range they really sucked. They were all 10" or less and had no more than ~100 watts.
As for Ty, he needs to read the instructions. "Use the supplied three-to-two prong plug" to get rid of the VERY annoying hum. Bothered me too at first.

My KSW-200 works great! Enough to rumble the house, and then some. It plays at very high volumes before distorting significantly. Disregard the review with the hum... he just needed to use the included orange power adapter. Oh, well!

I have owned this sub for about 4 months now and feel I know it pretty well.On the plus side it does great things for the price. The build quality is quite nice.It is a substantial peice of equipment(70 pounds).Using test tones I have discovered that it goes down to about 28-30hz,which is in the same range as my main speakers(Klipsch KLF-20s).I only use it for home theatre and in that area it works very well. You will hear all the bass in any movie. However, I feel it is just a little too slow for serious music listening. This is probably partly due to the speakers I am using it with though, since they are very sensitive and already have quite a bit of bass.Given the retail of this sub($650) that is not really all that surprising though.I paid $550 for mine and feel the money was well spent. In its price range I have not heard anything as good as this powerfull Klipsch.I believe the next step up in performance begins with REL's line of subs that starts at around $1000 and goes way higher in price. They are the only subs right now that I would replace the Klipsch with. So,all in all a very good sub for the money.

I purchased the KSW200 about a month ago and haven't looked back. In my modest room, this sub fills it easily. For the money it has the best build quality I have seen under a grand. It has excellent speed for its price range. The sub really stands out when used for cinema. On the Independance Day soundtrack, it hit all the notes. It has a monstrous power supply and weighs over 70 pounds. I love it.

I shopped stores and the net for a replacement for my JBL PSW100, which was a decent $220 sub for movies. Quite good boom for the buck, however muddy and boomy. I ordered the KSW 200 from NetMarket for $398 delivered. It sounds great. The 200 watt amp. supplies more then adequate power and for home theater application, it is a tough buy to beat. It clearly is the best in the <$400 category. It is a sizeable piece....coffee table stature and weighs in at 69lbs.
I agree with other posters, very good build quality. One of the better bargins out there. More subtle on music, powerful on movies. Have to give it the best rating considering value for money.

I have had the KSW200 for 6 months now and I am extreamly happy with it. The list price was $649.00. I purchased it along with 4 KSB 1.1s, and A KSC-C1 Center. I was able to get this sub for $395.00 as well as other discounts for the other speakers. A great Deal! Anyway, the KSW200 is a very good sub. Very solid in construction with no vibrations even at very loud volumes. It makes very deep, tight, room filling base. I could not be more pleased!!! I set the low pass filter to 65Hz, right were the KSB 1.1s bottom out and the KSW200 takes over with AUTHORITY! My living room is of decent size 14X27 and I have never had to have the KSW200 over half way up the volume scale. Subtle on music, never boomy, and earth shaking on movies. I can't say enough. For over all preformance and value I must give this sub 5 speakers. If your willing to spend 3 to 4 times the money, I'm sure you could get a better sub, but for the price, this sub does awesome things!

I fully endorse this product. Cannot go wrong for the price (under $400 mailorder). I bought the subwoofer for home theater but do not have the video yet and my room needs some work before I can install it. I took the subwoofer out of the box last night and hooked it up to the system I use for music (NAD 713AV receiver, SONY megachanger and Celestion Impact 40's. Then tried it with just 2 NHT SuperOnes. Both speakers were greatly enhanced with this subwoofer with all types of music. The level and frequency controls allow you to customize listening to your personal preferences. Having a 10 month old I can no longer "turn it up" and have been frustrated with all speakers I have listened to at lower levels of volume. The subwoofer allows you to get deep base at really low levels providing more enjoyment. I can't wait to hook this up to my home theater set up. Bottom line - great for the price, compared the Klipsch against the Energy and AR subwoofers - no contest. Five Stars!

I have owned this product for a couple of months and have had the opportunity to put it to the test often. Yes, this sub rocks, but I was pleasently surprised to find how well it performed at low volume, backround levels. I use the high level pass at 100 Hz. I found myself going to the sub a couple of times to listen if it was putting out any base. It was, and the music sounded great. It simply does it's job. Blends in very well. I cannot imagine anyone being displeased with this product. Especially at this price point.

I bought my Klipsch KSW200 from Ken Cranes in Pasadena for a clearance price of $325. I had narrowed down my choices in subs to KSW150, KSW200, Energy eXLS8, eXLS10. Then decided to get either KSW200 ($325 at Ken Cranes) or eXLS10 ($342 at Yawa Audio Video) with comparable sale prices from dealers. Went with KSW200 because it had 12" driver instead of 10", 200watt amp instead of 100watt. The Klipsch is by far the bigger of the two and it was tough carrying this big boy into my house.
The Klipsch was heavily discounted (50%) because of this was a discontinued model. I think the KSW12 is the replacement but it did not have the same power as the KSW200.

Both subs performed well, but Klispch had more output for the $. The sub performs very well for medium size room 15 X 20. I have my low pass set to 80Hz and volume turned all the way up. The sub is very good for Home Theater and ok for Music.

I use it 90% HT / 10% Music.

And again, make sure you use the "3-2 prong adapter" supplied.

Oh boy, what can I say about this monster? This is simply an excellent buy for the money, (I paid $499 in Oneonta NY) and I could not be more pleased with the sound. I like subs for movies mostly (I usually like contemporary folk and guitar music, so the sub gets bored when I listen to music....)and this one takes care of the low end with authority. I think it does not play as low as some others in it's price range do, but there is not much information at 20 Hz that is not there ar 30 Hz in movies (explosions, jet engines, etc...)and this sub rumbles mightily. I especially like when my chair vibrates on the floor when watching movies. I'm glad I have no neighbors.
