Strength:

Dual 15s have a tight grip on 25 to 60 Hz. Although it certainly can be used as a home theater sub, it shines in two channel stereo. It is very detailed and musical. Not a thump box by any means. The cabinet is first quality furniture..

Weakness:

The amps may get noisy over time, but there is an easy fix/mod that makes it kick ass

Strength:

powerful, tight, and fast

Weakness:

size and could use just a bit more amplification.

This sub is used in a home theater system with a pair of Focus up front, a Silver Screen in the center, and Mist in the rear. The mains are driven by a Krell KSA100S (wish I has more power...). This sub is fast and powerful! No boominess, no bloated 40-50 hz "sudo" bass. But real, honest, rattles stuff off shelves on the second floor and caused cracks in the drywall in our new home kind of bass. The scene in Terminator 2 Judgement Day where the robot crushes the skull in the opening scene still scares me! It is also excellent with music. A stand up bass in any recording sounds spectacular. And grinding, down and dirty Blues like Little Milton.... forget about it.

Strength:

DEEP, tight, not boomy or peaky

Weakness:

No high-pass crossover

This kind of bass is a must for movie and music realism. It's just not boomy, or thumpy like generic subs tuned to 40-50Hz. This one's tuned to below 20, but does not sacrifice dynamics to do it, like many overdamped cabinets or bandpass systems. This relies on good old fashioned law of physics of moving a LOT of air.
I went from a pair of towers that had 670square inches of bass area to this sub which has about 350, but it is tighter, quicker, and more versatile in setup and placement than towers.

This sub can really move air. On sound tracks it is by far the best sub I have heard. With music I would place it in the top 5. It is expensive, but finish, build quality and performance are tops.
