My system consists of: an Onkyo TXDS-555 dolby digital home theater receiver, two Infinity Overture 1 fronts, TEAC V-8030S cassette deck, Kenwood 1050 MD player, and a Sony CDP-CE525 CD player, and AudioSource surrounds and center. It is really gratifying to see that just about all of these components have received good reviews here! |

Strength:
Very accurate and controlled bass. Never boomy, yet high output.
Weakness:
Cabinet big. (But see below on I turned this into a major benefit.) I opted M & K because I heard they were the choice of professional. Now I'm a fan. The MX 105, the most affordable push-pull model offered, is very high output. So don't let the fact that it is the entry MX model bother you. I like a lot of (accurate) bass, so what I did was getting two of them and then stacking my front channel speakers on top of them. My front channels are black and similar in size to the MX 105. The end result is great form and function, good appearance and sound. I got the MX 105 for less than $900 each. A good pair of stands for my front channel would have cost a few hundred dollars. So go figure ... With these four 12" drivers, I have more bass than what I'll ever need. Similar Products Used: Sunfire True Sub. |

Strength:
Amazing bass, tight control, turn it up enough and it will pump your heart for you.
Weakness:
absolutely none Its the economy dual sub from M&K, but its comparable to any other company's best subs. Thunderous bass for movies and awesome punch for music. I have listened to all my CD's over again.. its like I never heard them before. Similar Products Used: Acoustic Research AR-SW30 |
