Strength:
Little orange light that tells you the unit is on. Not "fat" bass, but punchy and accurate. Great value and small size.
Weakness:
No auto on/off. Not for large rooms. I've now used the PDR-8 for 7 months. I highly recommend this sub for apartments or small-to-medium living rooms. This sub works absolutely fabulously with home theatre and music. I've read posts here that complain of a "hum", but I have not experienced anything of the sort (even wtih my ear right next to it). These hums can be caused other electrical interference, power source, or an inadequate amplifier. I would have liked an auto on/off capability, but it's not really that big of a deal. Strength:
Very accurate. Strong bass. Tiny unit.
Weakness:
No Removable grill! This works really well with my titans. It is a very small sub that shakes the walls pretty good. I was impressed with how much bass this little sub produced. |

Strength:
Small, strong clean bass, image.
Weakness:
Not that i know of. A friend of mine had his PDR8 for about 3 months now. Every time I come over and listen to music and watched movies, it sounded amazing. I couldn’t believe a little sub can put out so much bass. Anyhow, he decided to upgrade his sub with a PDR-12 and sold his sub to me for $150. So far I had this sub for about 2 1/2 month now and I’m still in love with it. For $150, who wouldn’t? So far my set up: |

Strength:
Rumbling Bass, High quality materials used and xcellent finish
Weakness:
The voice coil bottoms out easily if listening to music with heavy bass. No standby/power off function. My system consists off: Aiwa XA-008 Power amplifier, a pair of Eltax Silverstone 160 bookshelf speakers, a pair of Eltax Liberty 5+ floorstanding speakers and a homemade 15" passive subwoofer with eminence driver. no complaints from me! Got this from local hifi place for $280 US.. don't know about you guys finding it for $200, that would have been great! Still, it was worth the price... guess I'll have to lay off those canadian jokes for a while... Similar Products Used: Paradigm SB-8 |

grill wont come off--buzz 3rd and final review of this sub--after a week i saw 6th ave selling the pdr 10 for 50.00 more--i went for it- the 10 has auto on and off--and the sound was fuller--and no buzz lol--dont get me wrong--the 8 is a great sub--but the 10 :) is much better when you hear it in the home--good luck--if you can get the 10 at 350.00 go for it--reg price was 450.-- and the 10 i got was new--and that buzz is audible--like a reviewer said--depends on how neurotic you are--but in todays hi fi it shouldnt even exist -a tip--i have installed the sub in a utility cabinet--between 2 main spkrs--getting to level control on the back was a real pain--since sides of cabinet were in black cardboard i tacked on to hide wires-i used double sided tape to tape a straw to the level knob--sticks up behind the sub for easy settings--dont have to pull sub in and out of cabinet to make adjustments--use your imagination lol--i just have to remove the cardboard piece going across the top of the sub-move straw left or right lol works like a charm- cardboard only lays ther anyway--happy hunting Similar Products Used: sony sawm20 |

Picking a sub really depends upon your main speakers and your listening style. This sub is perfect for me. |
