Decent bass on a budget.

Not really tight or deep.

I have this paired with some Paradigm Atoms in my bedroom system. It does a good job filling in the low end on most music, but I wouldn't want to use it for home theater. If you already have a pair of small bookshelf speakers in need of a little bass boost for music, this sub should do fine. But it does not go much deeper than the bottom string of a bass guitar, not the best choice for pipe organ or deep percussive music. It is much tighter than typical cheap mass market subs, but noticeably less tight than my ADS L710s, each of which has a footprint approaching that of the SB-90 alone.

Only for music, not powered, no adjustment

I was looking for a cheap and good way to ad some extra bass in my system, and I found that this sub was a perfect solution. It's a non-powered sub and it cuts of the bass from the frontspeakers at 100 HZ. That means that your frontspeaker won't play lower than that, and they will therefore play more relaxed and open - while the sub plays all the deepest bass. In my system the cutting frequency at 100 HZ is perfect.

It's not a sub for movies, and it doesn't play very deep. But for music it's a good solution, because it's fast and clean, and makes your hole system sound more relaxed - and most important - adds an extra punch i the bass. If you're using biwiring (like me) you won't have to skip that. You can run the top directly to your receiver and run the bottom throu the sub to your reciever. The good thing about a non-powered sub, is that it's always turned on (!) - even on low levels - powered subs normaly have an anoying click when they automatically turns on and off.
