Strength:

Good powerfull sound. Does the job exactly as advertised.

Weakness:

Poor quality control.

Great sub. Paradigm Quality control is slipping! Mine was dead out of the box (input terminal wasn't working). Exchanged. Then the power supply on X-30 went only after 1 day. Hmmm.... But good sub though. Mine is working now. I am crossing my fingers.

Strength:

Slamming bass, works well as HT or stereo listening. "Tight" sound.

Weakness:

May be a little pricey but as the saying goes "you get what you pay for"

I'm no expert, however, I can say that this sub is awesome. Originally I purchased a PS1000 sub and liked it, but it was a little too boomy for my taste. Wow, when I sold it and purchased the Servo 15 I was impressed. If you like bass that is tight and feels like it hits you with a stick, then this is your sub. Take my advice, if you are shopping for a sub and don't want to have to upgrade later, then this should be at the top of your list.

Strength:

Build quality and looks are excellent. Mine is the Rosenut finish. Even while still breaking in, this sub adds amazing impace to Braveheart, Gladiator, The Matrix, Creed, Classical, my wife's Madonna cds (OK, I like em' too!) and every other DVD and CD I've thrown at them. I like the fact that the dishes in the kitchen cupboards vibrate, though this is a weakness for my wife.

Weakness:

Size. The wife had no idea a subwoofer could be the size of a small end table! One can't place a glass of Chardonay on this bohemeth for fear of it 'walking' it's way to the floor during 'Saving Private Ryan'!

I had been auditioning equipment (front- end and speakers) for about 8 months when I finally chose Paradigm Reference Products. I traveled to Charleston, Atlanta, Charlotte and my local stores in order to hear as many hi-end brands of speakers/preamps/amps as I could, and I kept coming back to the Paradigms due to their price versus performance. My whole system is still breaking in, but so far the sound is wonderful! As far as a few comments concerning the Servo 15's lack of ability to reproduce gut-wrenching explosions. That is a result of improper set-up/placement. After hours of critical listening and moving the sub around I found it's 'spot' in my HT room, and it fills my 20' by 30' room (cathedral ceilings and open space to the kitchen and hallway) with no problem. Set this sub up properly and it will perform better than most and as good as just about any other. You'd have to spend another grand to get a better performer, and I didn't have that to spend!

Strength:

Perfect!

Weakness:

Big and expensive

I posted the last review and I have figured out that the pooping is a result of my mini fridge turning itself on and off and sending a surge, with a cheap radio shak surge protector I have fixed the problem. Great sub!

Strength:

Incredible power and great frequency range. Matches well with my speakers.

Weakness:

Big, expensive, and has annoying pop but hey that''s what warranties are for.

Before I bought this sub I had an M&K 125 push-pull woofer and I liked it very much. My friend just purchased M&K towers and made me an offer I couldn''t refuse on the sub so I went out looking for a new sub. After auditioning the THX M&K, the Boston Acoustics PV1000 and a huge Klipsch I heard the Servo 15. WOW!!! This thing is incredible. My towers hit down to 28hz so I set the crossover to 80hz and sit back and feel the room shake. The people who leave beneath me now hate my guts :-) Watching Last of the Mohicans when the French are attacking the fort is incredible. The cannons shake the whole house. The only problem I have noticed is that occaisionally the sub will emit a pop and I don''t even have it turned up past 1/3 of the total power. THis happens when I am using the sub and when I am not, just as long as it is on. It happens about every 50 minutes. Has anyone else experianced this problem? Other than that problem my experiance has been nothing but positive. Great sub, expensive but worth the price. Strength:

Powerful bass with good control Reproduces the lowest octave down to 18Hz in my room

Weakness:

Quite large enclosure

I auditioned this sub and compared it to the below-mentioned subs, and found it to be the most authoritative in bass production. In my mid-sized room, with the volume at mid-range, movies really come to life. Listening to music with deep bass(Sarah McLachlan''''s "I Love You" from "Surfacing", Brian McKnight''''s "When You Wanna Come" from "Superhero") can cause things to rattle around my room. If I play it all day long any higher it''''ll probably cause some structural damage or serious loss in hearing. I''''ve heard good things about other subs like the Velodyne HGS-18, dual-SVS and Earthquake Supernovas enough to believe that perhaps the Servo-15 isn''''t in the same league, but its also quite a bit cheaper than these.

Strength:

Super low bass without distress.

Weakness:

Can''t produce gut wrenching high SPL explosions.

After searching for a better sub for my system, I discovered the Servo 15 my dealer recommended to me. I was so impressed with the deep bass, I purchased it immediately. They can easily overload a room. I run them in a rec/basement with concrete floors so placement is crucial to avoid standing waves. They work so well with my Studio 40''s and McIntosh 7300 that I now feed them with the H/T receiver for DVD''s. I now own 2 Servo 15''s and the bass is hypnotic. The only thing they can''t do is reproduce midbass explosions like vented/ passive radiator systems can like my True Sub Signature. But that''s OK because I bought them for MUSIC and not for LFE. I but would not trade them for all the tea in China. Great product

Strength:

Accurrate, deep clear and clean lows, fast. Unlike other I have not heard servo nose at all, no static noise, dead quite between songs and/or disc changes. The X30 along with the addition of sub has opened up and added to the soundstage. Supplied with a decent quality, 23''long cable, good instructions, warrantee and dealer backing (mine anyway). Good value, great sound. The rating of 4 on Value - I guess I''m a little cheap (wifes got me trained after 20 years) and a 4 on Overall rating as it sounds as good as I thougth it would.

Weakness:

Big heavy black box.

Black Ash Laminate unit, Purchased new, $1400.00 CDN $ complete with X30 crossover and accessories. This is approximately $850 to $900 US. For those of you south of the 49th, a drive north is worth the gas. I have had my Servo 15 for 3+ months now and must say it keeps sounding better and better. Sub is mated with a pair of Paradigm Mini Monitors which I thought sounded pretty darn good on their own. I consider myself pretty lucky as the dealer I was working with has always been both helpful and flexable. I had orignally auditioned both the PW2200 & Servo 15 and at that time felt the PW2200 would do. I looked at cost Vs what was really important to me, the music! I always make sure the better half is involved in any decissions regarding the addition of pieces such as this sub as it does take up a good chunk of floor space. This is one big black box and your wife better be on board this unit, your not going to sneak this one by her! As I said earlier, I purchased the PW2200 first, took it home, played with it for about 2 weeks. Just wasn''t right for our home, accoustics wise. Please don''t get me wrong the PW2200 is a good sub, TREMENDOUS output but found it very hard to controll and not as accurate as I''d hoped it would be. So, went back to see John at AVU, as soon as I walked in he looked at me and said "you second guessed yourself didn''t you." He knew I''d be back. He had me come back at the end of the week and he loaded his demo servo 15 in my van and told me to put it side by side with PW2200 for comparision. I had 3 full days to play with these to monsters, what a weekend! The neighbours didn''t seem to happy with me for awhile, some were outside trying to figure out why their windows were rattling. O well sa la vie they''ll get over it. Some that have reviewed the servo 15 state it dose not have enough punch or slam. I beg to differ. True the S15 does not have the same up front presents of a PW2200 which can and will loosen everything in your home and is probibly what many are looking for especialy for HT use. But if like me the majority of your listening pleasure comes from music then I strongly recommend you spend some time with the Servo 15. Believe me, once settled in, adjusted and worked for a few weeks you will not be sorry. This thing will if unleashed blow out your windows, crack your plaster and knock nicknacks off the shelf.

Strength:

Awsome bass, beautiful wood enclosure

Weakness:

annoying static crackle noise

This is an awesome sub. I use it in a home theater/music room. The other speakers in my setup are Paradigm Reference studio 80''s (4) and the studio cc. I am however ,having trouble with an annoying static crackle whenever I walk near the sub or sit on a nearby sofa. Paradigm cannot explain this so I am appealing for help from this site. If any fellow home theater enthusists have had this problem would you please e-mail me at jcollier@nbnet.nb.ca. Thanks
