Polk is a good brand name for speakers. My home theater system is all Polk (TSI400, CS20 and TSI200s). However, Polk's subwoofer aren't as good. Although this sub is tight for music, movies tend to be a bit boomy. My old Onkyo 990THX subwoofer which this sub replaced performed better than this sub. For the money, I suggest getting a BIC F12 which can get get for $184 shipped or a BIC HT100 for $239 shipped. If you could get an HSU in the price level so much the better. |

Amazing is the best way to describe what this sub is like and for the price $199 may I should buy another one just because. Excellent investment. |

After extensive research reviewing subs in the price range I wanted to pay settled on the Polk PSW110. Excellent value for the money. Really makes my home theater system shine. And although music is secondary with me it is surprisingly powerfull and tight with music reproduction. I am very happy with this sub. Would highly recommend for this price range. |

Strength:
Price, deep bass, tight bass for music
Weakness:
Upper bass range 150-190hz For lower cost subwoofers there is a handful of choices. Polk has the PSW-10 $199 and a step up from this is the PSW-110 retail $299 MSRP. I've owned and installed both for my customers. The PSW-10 has L+R RCA inputs and the PSW-110 adds LFE RCA input. Note that the crossover control is bypassed when only using the LFE input. The sound is about the same from both at lower volume levels, but the PSW-110 hits lower and tighter at mid to high volumes. For music bass lines are more pronounced and deeper on the PSW-110. Movie sound tracks on the PSW-10 sound good - maybe even better because it's less accurate.
