Strength:
More than loud enough! Can''t say enough about the good looks, great build and ESPECIALLY the volume knob on the front. This sub held it''s own in a very large room (24x30) with cathedral ceilings. It pounds!! it makes things fall off shelves. It has every kind of hookup option and input connection you could ever need. The dual side firing woofers seem to keep most of the sound IN the room, unlike the downfiring woofer subs that seem to transfer a lot of the sound to the basement where the children may be sleeping. Polk has great customer service, they answer the phones quickly and can get you in touch with a tech immediately.
Weakness:
25HZ is as low as it goes, and it is kinda weak until you get up into 35-60HZ. Then it really thumps. Before i got the Monster cable, the sub would power on for no reason with the auto on/off feature. now it''s fine. not much else. I am very pleased with the performance of this subwoofer. I compared it side by side against Paradigm and Klipsch in the same price range. It seemed to me to be much more punchy and tight compared to the Klipsch sub. The Paradigm was actually much louder than the Polk and could REALLY pound, but it seemed a tad on the boomy side. So considering that the majority of use for me is listening to music (80%) and movies (20%) I chose the Polk for it''s balanced musical tone, better speaker connects and volume knob placement. I have a Denon 1802 with Paradigm Titan surrounds and Paradigm center. Incidentally the Polk PSW650 really tightened up with the addition of a Monster Cable! I did sound tests and comparisons using: Toy Matinee DTS, (DTS 5.1 surround) Mad Season''s CD ''Above'' (Stereo and 5 ch surround) Morphine''s CD ''Cure for Pain'' (Stereo and 5 ch surround) Matrix DVD, Toy story DVD. At home I have to keep the volume only about 2/3 to blend with my system. Similar Products Used: Pioneer passive sub---w e a k |

Strength:
clean and deep bass without distortion, input options
Weakness:
none I decided to get this sub because my room is quite large and the subwoofers I owned before the PSW650 weren't capable of playing loud enough without distorting. This sub is very musical and it is able to blend in even with small mains. It's dual 10" subs with a high current 250watt amp should fill medium to large size rooms with deep bass. This sub is great for movies especially if you like playing your movies loud. It can handle everything from soft bass passages to the biggest explosions without distorting or bottoming out. I use both the speaker inputs and line level to make sure I'm not missing out on anything. It's a good idea to have a friend help you move it around the room to find the right location because it's very heavy and it's much easier to have someone change the phase switch and low pass crossover while you are at your istening position to determine the best settings for your whole system. I don't think there's a better subwoofer out there in the same price range as the PSW650. Since I'm very happy with this sub and haven't found any weakness in it, I'm gonna have to give it a perfect score. Similar Products Used: PSB, Paradigm, Energy |

Strength:
Pristine sound, and great looking furniture no need to hide the speaker.
Weakness:
None Vary easy to set up, easy to integrate into other speakers as well as the home theater as a whole. The sound that comes from this sub just rivals everything that I have heard under $1000.00 |

Many
Weakness:
None considering the price Recently added my second PSW-650 for my LFE channel. WOW! Adding a second sub boosted the max SPL by 6 decibels, which means I can play each sub at -3db less (@ half the previous power) and still maintain the same avg. SPL, but with gobs more headroom. Looks nice
Weakness:
Not enough power Polk rhymes with Choke, or perhaps, Joke. This sub wasn't very good. When I wanted it loud and tight, it gave me boomy and distorted. Very, dissappointing. But, well, not surprized. After all, it is Polk audio. Similar Products Used: Paradigm Servo 15, Mirage BPS1000 |

Quick and Accurate
Weakness:
Only 250 Watt amp This is a fine speaker(S) in a beautiful cabinet that is very quick, accurate and if easy to place in the room for the best sound since it has two opposing 10" speakers. Similar Products Used: DF15TL+ |

Earthshaking BASSSSS! Tight and clean.
Weakness:
Heavy as a mother. Before I tried this sub, I was real skeptical. I thought it would suck (not a real fan of Polk), but damn, was I wrong. Similar Products Used: Paradigm PDR-10, Velodyne CT-100 |
