What an improvement from my PA PSW-12 and yamaha subs. Tight and very musical. My system has a new refinement in it now. The Polkaudio PSW-12 would rumble and shatter, but lacked tightness and agility required for music. CHT-10 has taken by HT setup to a new level.

Strength:
Sounds good with music. Good for people that don't want their dishes to rattle during movies. It fills in great with satelites and sounds very smooth.
Weakness:
Cabinet is large for a 10" driver. Heavy This is a good little sub. I am using it with some Polk satelites in my bedroom and it sounds good. Similar Products Used: HGS-12 - Velodyne (in my theater) |

Excellent quality of sound. Vibrant, strong and low. Love the sound and the fullness. Plenty of bass for my system when it's about 1/4 volume... |

Strength:
-Awesome bass, tight -Great price -Rigid build quality
Weakness:
-Besides the weight (which matters not cuz my tv's a lot heavier), I've yet to find one.....still looking When I heard this sub in the showroom, I knew it was good. The acoustics of the room and the position of the sub wasn't desirable, but the sub had a gravitational pull! The bass is clean and tight with very little distortion. DVD or music, it plays either one just fine. And the price! Oh the price was the one factor that made me buy it. For its price, this sub gives a lot! In my opinion, it's the best one in this price category. Similar Products Used: CHT 12, Polk, Harman Kardon, Athena, Cerwin Vega |

Strength:
Some see to compliain about it being boomy with music. I do not find that at all.
Weakness:
None that I can tell I had an Onkyo SV70 Pro reciever since 1989 and it finally died. I purchased a Rotel RSX-1055. I currently have Bose 401 Speakers/ old Bose center and surround speakers with the addition of a CHT 10. Sounds good with music and DVD's. Some think it sounds boomy. I purchased a 20.00 SPL at Radio Shack, so that I could adjust the volumns to 75 db and the sub to 71-72db. Once that is fixed. It sounds awsome! I read many articles about subs. Some folks claim subs need to be in a speific place. NOT TRUE. Since bass is omni-directional it can be placed anywhere in the room where you listen to HT/Music. I only have the dial on the back to the 1st dot for gain. The reciever is placed at zero (0) flat. Sounds hot! Similar Products Used: none |

Strength:
deep bass, 150 watt(rms)amp ,Price
Weakness:
Big ,port Can make noise on ultra low bass but hard to notice This sub is awsome. If you want a good sub for a farley small price this is an awsome sub it makes movies and music come to life. I have it in my bed room so it really sounds good in there. I would recomend this sub to anyone who likes lots of bass. Sortof big but it is not as big as some subs I have seen. I bought this sub becouse I hade a very crapy sub befor. If the price is really low so is the quality. I had a KLH it was $100 not worth it don't buy a crapy sub even if you are thinking about up grading later just save up becouse it is not worth the trouble. But I would recomend this sub to most anyone. Similar Products Used: KLH peace though |

INCREDIBLE IN A SMALL ROOM
Weakness:
AS YOUR ROOM GETS BIGGER THE SUBS OUTPUT GOES SMALLER I've wanted a sub for my hometheater ever since I started building it about 4-5 years ago. One day I was looking through the future shop flyer and saw they had the Polk PSW250 for only 300 bucks. So I decided it was time to take the plunge. I got the polk. It was ok for movies and terrible for music. I returned the polk a week or so later and decided to get serious by picking up the CHT-10. In my girlfriends basement (small room) this sub is amazing. It blows away the PSW250 for music, which is all I tested it for at that location. I brought it back to my house and set it up in my basement (large room). Position is so important!!! It was a painful process for me to find the right spot. I have it beside my tv facing the wall. Seems to work well. This sub is really good for movies even in my large room. Its ok for music, not the best though. Similar Products Used: POLK PSW250 |

Strength:
powerful, tight, and you can feel it. It also has a built in surge protector to save you amp and woofer from power serges along with your little brother turning it up to high, although most of the time this puppy can handle it.
Weakness:
Not as good with music, although it's still great it's just not as good as it is with DVD audio. This is a great subwoofer, with only 10 inches this baby can really kick. As with any subwoofer positioning is very important. Once I found the sweet spot this beast actually made if feel like my heart skips beats. The Bass is rich and tight. It's much better used for DVD movies than music. That is where this speaker lags a little...(but just a little.) I would say that this speaker can actually hit the range that it claims on its specs. If you are serious about bass and sometimes need to have your heart jump started sometimes this speaker is a great investment.
