Great sound. You can fell and listen the sound. I own an Infinity BU2, it is a great subwoofer, but you cannot feel the bass like you can with the CT-150. |

I have been shopping subs for quite some time before purchasing the Ct-150. I've shopped most every major brand. I've heard the B&W ASW series, Engery, Paradigm, Definitive, and Mirage just to name some of the better. Let me say this is one of the most impressive subs I've ever heard. I don't care what you listen to with proper placement, tuning, and a good receiver, you'll get perfect bass response.I've tried really hard and honestly it's a challenge to get this sub to distort. It's consistently clean, clear and solid. Movie effects are thunderous and clean, music bass is clear and again solid. With a Yamaha RXV995 receiver I ussually keep my bass LFE around -7 and my sub volume at 3. Even that low I can feel it outside of my house. |

Strength:
Looks, design, strong powerful house shaking bass, quality of the bass, very good design, looks more like a $2000 sub
Weakness:
price This is a very good sub, i am an audiophile and i have heard almost all the other subs out there. Did research and finally decided to go with the Velodyne CT-150. This sub sounds and feel definetly like a $2000 subwoofer. I got this sub for $699, which is pretty good. I definetly got my moneys worth. The bass coming from this is very deep, tight and clean. I have it on very low and when i go downstairs in my garage it will vibrate my walls, garage doors, shake, knock stuff off in my garage, anywhere in my whole house and even outside from across my neighbors house you can feel and hear the deepness coming from this sucker. This sub is a killer sub... the bass will be more than enough, i have a fairly large room, like 20x40 and damn does it tear down everything, the volume is on low and my kitchen cabinets shake, the windows feel like they about to crack, and i even knocked off stuff hanging from my walls many time, so make sure if you have this sub, to make sure everything is bolted down tightly, i am warning you the bass from this sub is very deep, you will be able to feel it and not hear the bass, i have never attempted to turn this more than 1/4 way up, im pretty sure it would knock my house down if i did. If you like music like i do, this sub is the best for music! I'm telling you guys velodyne makes the best sounding subs. Music is great, very deep and clean, and for movies, well lets not get into that :) i think you all know how good it is. I'm very very happy with this sub, its a little too powerful but hey im not complaining :) Similar Products Used: infinity, advent, sunfire, Energy, B&W, mirage |

Earth Shattering BASS
Weakness:
NONE This was my first Subwoofer. I am a big bass addict, I know purists say this and that, but heck i think bassing classical music is just as much fun as bassing techno or home theater. Anyway, so i wanted incredible bass to add to my system, and I chose the Velodyne ct-150 and it is a sub that is gonna last me years, until I can afford one of the velodyne big boys when i finish college, er actually finish paying off student loans. Strength:
Distortion free at exterme levels, powerful, tight, deep bass.
Weakness:
None I'm using the C.V.12 on my home theatre, I have tried it on my main stereo. The fact is my stereo doesn't need a sub on it per-say but I really enjoy the CT-150 on it and it will stay for now. A bit about my system: I'm running a pair of Haffler 9505 Diablo Trans Nova amps. in mono. I'm using an A.A. DLC pre-amp. and an A.A. DTI+ filter hooked to an A.A. PS2. I've got a C.A.L. Delta transport and C.A.L. Alpha DAC w/upgraded premium select Sovtek tubes wearing Tube Sox sitting on a Townshend Seismic Sink. All electronics are sound coated. My speakers are Polk SDA-SRS 2.3's. I'm running a dedicated power line with its own breaker to the system from my service pannel. All power goes through two power conditioners /RFI filters. The digitals (DAC & transport) to the digital end of an A.P.I Power Pack 2 as well as the analog (pre-amp & PS2) to the analog end of same. The two power amps. and the powered sub. go into the A.P.I. Power Wedge 110.(Dedicated for amps only.)I'm Connected from the pre-amp. to each amp. by 1m lengths of AQ Diamond Interconnects. The DAC is hooked to the pre-amp. by .5m AQ Diamonds. The Transport is hooked to the DTI w/.5m HAVE Stealth cable. The DTI to DAC is made w/.5m Tara Labs Master Gen. 2 cable. From either amp to either speaker (Having separate channel amps.) I' m using 3.5' lengths of AQ Clear speaker cable to power the top half. (High freq.) On the bottom half I'm running two pairs of AQ Cobalt spk. wires to each speaker.(Low freq.) All electronics including the conditioners are wired w/AQ power cables w/RFI filters. All custom built to fit my needs by me. (The Parts Connection in Canada) The amps. running mono block into the 6 ohm Polks see a 3 ohm and still run cool enough not to need fans. They produce aprox. 938.5 watts per channnel of clean power. The Polks can run at 750 continuous watts. As you can imagine the system is no wimp reproducing bass. I will usualy let some one hear it w/o the sub. on first. It blows them away. Then I ask if they want to hear it w/ the sub. on. Let me tell you it takes the lowest bass to a new dimension and the listener with it. You talk about digging in and going the extea mile ( Octive?) this sub. will do it! I thought that sub. were only at home on theatre systems but this says it can work on music too and does it! Although there are better subs. out there (IE: more expensive) it would be hard to beat this bang for the buck. I got mine new last year for $499!!! It's more than worth that believe me. And I do have freinds w/ other subs. That agree this one really rocks. For the price 4 stars, because it can be bettered in the real world overall 4 stars. Weakness:
-price (if you don't get a deal) First of all, i would like to clarify, I am not exactly sure the differences between an audiophile, casual listener, and an audio enthusiast. I am still learning, but am a heavy music listener. So i figured i would put me down as an audiophile. |

Lots of Powerful, Tight, Earth Shaking BASS. A Plethera of control options, also doubles very nicely as a coffee table. You wont find a better subwoofer or coffee table for under $1000!!!!
Weakness:
At times there is a slight amount of boominess. This is the best subwoofer you can buy for under $1000!! I went out and tested subs for 6 months. Many were too boomy. Many didnt go low enough. Many were to expensive and didnt do what the ct150 could do. If you want powerful, clean, tight bass that you can control and tweek to your likeing, than this sub is for you. Be warned however............... Similar Products Used: Velodyne CT120, Paradigm, NHT, Harmon Kardon, JBL |

MY NEIGHBOR CALL THE COPS EVERY TIME I PUT IT TO LOUD, I HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS PAGE. WITHOUT IT I WOULDN'T HAD BOUGHT THIS SUBWOOFER, BECAUSE I LIVE 3000 MILES FROM THE US. AND I CANT SEE OR LISTEN TO THE PRODUCTS IN THE STORES. FOR WHAT I AM VERY THANKFULL TO THIS SITE. IN SOME CASES, SOME REVIEWERS GIVE A POOR SCORE TO SOME PRODUCTS BUT I BELIEVE ITS BETTER NOT TO PAY ATTENTION TO THIS KIND OF REVIEWS WHEN 90 % OF THE REVIEWERS GIVE A HIGH SCORE TO THE PRODUCT.
