The power switch doesn't discharge the caps and the LED is powered after the switch, not b4 - me idiot). It takes about a minute to drain the caps at moderate listening levels. Mine is a Mk-I. I never turn it off. It has never been protected. It has no noticably audible characterisics to my ear. I do run a dedicated AC line to it however, and I don't live out in the boonies. First of all this sub really sutable for ur small room but it really good sounding in medium vol.
If you want to use this as 2.1 style (computer user).

I got this small one from second store in Cambodia around 15usd only n still good coditions(work well)
So my first try with my onkyo AV , Yamaha NS-10mm _Hip Hop song n good sound out of the box. when I move up the vol bass distorted happend. I use this as a second sub for my main BOSE lifestyle right now n listen to some classic music becos it can be also adding some soft bass to that song. I like to listen warm music. Yamaha done well with some of their funtions on this one, Auto power off, High Cut... I planned to buy SW160 subwoofer product from Yamaha. In Cambodia, Phnom Penh price around 195$(VAT).
