None I bought the bp-2 as my rear speakers and moved them to my centers. Now have the bp-2x as my rears. I even enjoy these without my main speakers on clear and precise. It is a joy with either HT or as a part of a full music experience. |

I listened to these, watching Fith Element, with only the center speaker connected, the subwoofer off, and the BP2X selected as large (full range). I did this so I could really key in on the BP2X at work. They sounded nice and clear with plenty of warmth. I had the salesman turn the signal all the way up to the rears to see if the BP2x would strain at all. They did not. Infact the reciever started clipping, but the speakers handled the high volume/signal with ease. I have not made up my mind if I prefer Bipolor over Monopole yet but these speakers did a fine job on Fith Element. I can say that they were harder to locate then a monopole speakers. |

These speakers are great for home theater. I was watching (What Dreams May Come) on DVD and was amazed how crisp and loud they played. The imaging was great I had a hard time telling where the speakers were located. Very forgiving in placement. If you want great rear speakers w/o a large price, these are the ones! |

Full range surround speaker I purchased these BP2X's along with the Def Tech BP2002TL's and CLR 2000 (You can read my reviews of those as well). In short, the BP2X's serve their function: They provide rear-channel stereo sound.... But, oh do they do that job well. Actually, I want to hook up the speakers as my front channel ones just to hear how they sound alone since you never really get a full idea of how they sound alone. Bought a pair of these about 3 weeks ago. What a difference! I watched Star Trek Insurrection and the laser blasts sounded like there were actually in the room. GREAT reproduction of sound. These are INCREDIBLE rear speakers. Full range and bi-polar. I will try the other movies mentioned in this thread. |

Strength:
clear sound from a bipolar speaker, excellent bass from small cabinet
Weakness:
none really for a surround speaker I purchased an entire Definitive speaker system, BP10B's for fronts, C1000B center, BP2X's for rears, and 2 PF15TL+ subs. I got a fabulous deal on the whole system, all brand new, not demo's either. I have had the system about 3 months now, and I am absolutely amazed at the sound of this sytem! The BP2X is the perfect surround speaker, wall mountable and pretty compact, bipolar is simply the way to go. I am a bass freak, too much is never enough, and the BP2X's have a nice amount of thumping. I have recently added a second PF15TL+ for the rear of my room and it is killer! The BP2X imaging is crystal clear, yet can handle all the volume you want to throw at it without sounding too bright! Definitive says these can be used as main front channels also, and they're right! These little speakers will blow away alot of towers from other manufacturer's. This is just my opinion, but I would highly recommend these for anyone serious about hifi! I absolutely am sold on Definitive! Similar Products Used: Bose 201, Paradigm ADP170, PSB Image 1B |
