Fluance AV-BP2 Surround Speakers

Fluance AV-BP2 Surround Speakers

DESCRIPTION

The Fluance AV-BP2 tackles the needs of surround speaker design in a usefully different way. It is a bipolar design that combines two identical panels that employ a 4-inch woofer and a 1-inch Neodymium balanced dome tweeter. Its surround ambience is very convincing, thanks to the way the two speaker panels are angled outward to radiate indirectly. But because the speakers are wired in phase, in a bipolar design, they also provide all the localization needed for soundtracks with directional surround effects. The more demanding you are about surround sound, the more we think you will appreciate what the AV-BP2 has to offer. It has top reproduction qualities in the hi-fidelity music as well as the surround sound home theater area and therefore can also be used as a bookshelf speaker. Only premium components such as powerfully dimensioned high-performance magnets and Neodymium tweeters are used in the production of this system. The Neodymium balanced pure silk dome tweeters provide a wonderfully smooth and accurate projection of the high frequency portions of the signal. The result is a pure and perfect listening experience.

    Strength:

    Great Sound, Blends everything well.

    Weakness:

    None.

spent. I decided to buy the seperate SV-10's, the dipole surrounds, and the better center channel. This system blew me away the first time I heard it. I played blackhawk down on it and was amazed. Powered by a Denon 3300 this system really hits hard. For the price you cannot find a better system. I am a college student and this fit my budget but I got far more than I ever thought. I have also listened to Polk RT series and these could definately hold their own against them. For a beginning/intermediate system there shouldn't be a second thought.

    Strength:

Sounds, look and use of the bipolar technology. When properly placed, these speakers provide the best surrond sound atmosphere. So much so that u can't tell where the sounds are coming from. Bidirectional sound is good.

    Weakness:

The ability to change from bidirectional to unidirectional is not there but the sound is great regardless of placement. However should u want the best sound possible from these speakers, place them on the roof and facing the sides of your desired listening position ( not at the back) . One baffle of the speaker should face towards but not directly to the front speaker and the other baffle of the speaker should fire into the wall. This creates a bouncing of the sound and therefore the increases spread of the sound waves. The brackets needs to be ungraded. Walmart sells nice brackets for $10 that can hold up to 10 lbs and can be drilled onto the back of the speaker. Makes the world of difference.

These bipolar speakers are terrific. The sound is clean and clear, handles power well without distortion. The finish of the speaker is nice although it is a simulated wood finish. The enclosure is still tight and well sealed. The removable grills reveal the dual baffles of speakers. I understand that the newer speakers like the one I purchase have a silver white speake cone versus the older black speaker cone. Great look!!!
