Strength:
Clarity, accurate, powerful in 6 channel stereo set-up and for surround sound in movies. Nice design.
Weakness:
Finding them in stock. I originally bought the SS.5 surrounds because the SS-1's were out of stock at Best Buy. I also upgraded from the SF-1 fronts to the SF-3. My new set-up is a Yamaha 5750, SF-3 Mains, SS-1 rears, SC-1 front and rear center. This system now cranks. The SS-1 upgrade makes a big difference when listening to music in 6 channel surround. The movies now take on a deeper and clearer ambience as well. The bigger woofer and horns make the special effects more noticeable than the SS.5 surrounds. Klipsch really does have a great set-up for movies. Similar Products Used: JBL, Klipsch SS.5, Altec Lansing, Bose |

Strength:
real clear highs
Weakness:
none so far I got the Klipsch SS.1 along with a Klipsch SF-2, Klipsch SC-1, Klipsch KSW-12, Yamaha RX-V995, A nice audio rack, and complete monster speaker wires for only $750. What a deal? I had an old Klipsch SS.5 but was dissapointed by their teeny sound and low sensitivity. Got the Klipsch SS.1 and impressed with the sound. I guess a bigger midrange and tweeter really makes a difference. Similar Products Used: Klipsch SS.5 Energy E:XL-15 |

Strength:
Fine sound reproduction fit and finish grill is removable Clarity for both movies and music can be wall mountable
Weakness:
Slightly bulky for a surround placed in a small room... I Decided on buying these speakers for two reasons....1) I already owned Klipsch fronts so I wanted the tonal quality of the same manufacturer... 2) the reviews on this site were quite impressive.... I lucked -out and purchased these speakers out of the bargain finder....I have them mounted on stands that I purchased from Future Shop in Calgary...They sit behind the sofa and are being used for a system set-up in a small one bedroom condo...This is my first forray into the home theatre set-up.. but I always make a point to do "the work" before I spend the money and get some quality gear...I have been satisfied with Klipsch equipment in the past for there fine sound and clarity..I have been planning on buying these speakers for months.. and nothing new on this web site has swayed me in my purchase...A good deal was to be found that I could not pass-up..... Thanks to audioreview for helping me decide on quality gear... Strength:
clarity, appearance and PRICE
Weakness:
wallmounts worthless unless secured excellently into wall. Are you sure you want to hang 300 dollars on drywall? As a newcomer to the a/v world, I had hoped to get my feet wet by purchasing a moderately low priced speaker system. Much to my surprise, I am ecstatic with the sound quality, sound clarity, and overall appearance of the Klipsch system I invested in. Klipsch seems to have produced low cost speakers while maintaining high quality. These surrounds are a delite as are my sb-3's sc-1's and 12 inch sub. I will probably be looking to upgrade to a KLIPSCH reference series system, but until then will remain wholly satisfied with my current system. And believe you me, I will be heading back to Acoustic Sound design ( www.acousticsounddesign.com ) for my future purchases. I ordered my speakers and within 7 days of submiting my order, I had the speakers in my hands. Acoustic Sound Design prices can't be beat, and in addition they honor the full manufacturers warranty through their store! |

Strength:
BIG sound small price.
Weakness:
none so far. I bought these to round out the surround "B" channel on the rear wall of my media room. If you are looking for a speaker that has expensive sound without taking out a loan...this is your speaker. I have had a KSC-C1 center and bookshelves (KSB-1.1) as my mains with a KSW-12 as my sub. The combination of these 8 speakers makes for quite the theater experience. My system consists of: Mitsubishi WS-73909 Sony DVPNS755V Denon AVR-3803 4 Klipsch KSB 1.1 (F/L,R; SRA/L,R) 2 Klipsch SS-1 (SRB/L,R) 2 Klipsch KSC-C1 (F & R Center) 1 Klipsch KSW-12 sub Similar Products Used: JBL, Yamaha |

Strength:
Acurate sound reproduction excellent frequency response value
Weakness:
need proper placement for good sound narrow sound field. These speakers are fantastic for the price. They provide very acurate sound reproduction, and balance. We recently purchased them to replace a pair of Bose V100 surround speakers, and the difference is remarkable. I have them paired up with Bose Acoustamass Cube speakers in the front, and the bi-polar design of the Klipsch matches up with the Bose perfectly. The only problem I''ve noticed with the klipsch design is that it is very pciky to its location, which is very troublesome if they are wall mounted (i''ve discovered that tall stands are the way to go) Other than that, they are a great speaker for the cost. Loss of direction on some movies like Dragon Heart, and Matrix. Great value for the money, I payed only 300.00 from a dealer, the wall mount's on the back make it nice to hang. wall placement is very important if not setup correctly |

Strength:
Unbelievable efficiency!! The best sounding rears I have tried. Works great with low power amps. Great reflective sound for home theater and music. AWESOME! Low height makes them easy to put anywhere. Shelves, ledges, or mounted on the wall very easy set up and easy to place.
Weakness:
Not a thing. The $300 I paid is in Canadian dollars (roughly $150 US) and it was a fantastic purchase way better than I had dreamed. I use these for DVDs with Dolby digital and DTS and they are amazing. When I first got them I had them hooked up to my old Sony Prologic powered speakers with built in amp/reciever. I hooked them up to the rear outs to replace the Sony rears and the difference was unbelievable. They were only getting 50 watts off the Sony built in amp and they still sounded a million time better than the sony rears. I was hearing effects that I couldn't hear before. Even if you don't have a high power amp these are the rears to get!! The sound quality matched with the effciency and YOU CANT GO WRONG WITH THESE! Add to that the low profile and you have the best rears on the planet! I can't rate theses high enough. Similar Products Used: Sonys, Infinity, Pioneer |
