I wanted up upgrade my computer sound system to something reasonable, and bought a used immaculate JVC RX-EX90 mini-amp and matching ME-EX90 Subwoofer mini-amp which sit nicely below the 29" super wide Monitor. i use the original JVC speakers for the Sub-woofer (dual input speakers).

Strength:
Good sound transition from speaker to speaker, especially when paired with yamahas ns-a100xt's. Great highs and mids, Lows are better then expected at this price level, but not breath taking. Leave the lows to you subs and fronts people! Their bueatiful looking speakers. High quality workmanship for the price. Also I love the connecters, gold connections, with screw down fastners. I did not expect that for the price. Good Work yamaha!
Weakness:
cheap cable in package(GET THE MONSTER, YOU DESERVE IT!!!) speaker covers not made to be removed. Like the other reviewer I am using the e55's as surrounds and the c55 as my only center. I know yamaha has a great reputation for sound quality so when I saw these for $40 I grabbed them up. The center is great, it has clear/crisp highs and great mid-range sound. The low-range is average. The 160watt max input is accurate, and is well suited for those with a 100watt center output from the reciever. The surrounds (e-55's)are good too. They produce clear/crisp highs and mids and better then average lows for their price range. The 150watt max input assures your sound is great with a 500watt max reciever(thats 100watts x 5). Overall performance is above average, and the sound transition is good. Especially if paired with yamaha's ns-a100xt floor standing speakers. If you are building a MID-Level system these are a steal at $70 and a smart buy at $100. You can find this set of 3 speakers around that price fairly easily. So spending more would be silly. But even at MSRP they are a good buy. Similar Products Used: audiosource ls-100's |

Strength:
Good Vocals
Weakness:
Less Bass I am using this speakers as surrounds and center to suplement my Bose 401 which I purchased "used" (older than 10 years) for my budget HTS (which has Yamaha RX V520 and Pioneer DV-533K). Similar Products Used: none |
