it turned on when i hit the power button. also turned off. thats every single time i turned it on and off. by the remote or on the tv itself. i was a little frustrated that i had to put batteries in the remote though.............. that was a frustrating two hours before i figured it took batteries....... did you know most remotes you have to put batteries in. thats like the manufacturer doesn't do it for ya.

hmm. where do i start. other than the remote dilemma. the picture looks terrible. best buy toled me this was better than that hat-achi. and the soonee. anyway the picture looks worse than my forty year old unit.

this thing is worse than my wife,er i mean sister on three beers. it blows......
