Strength:

picture, picture, picture. good remote. easy on-screen adjustments great up-conversion circuitry

Weakness:

strech modes you have to get used to

i just bought this tv a couple of weeks ago. very satisfied with the picture. dvd movies look fantastic. absolute stunning detail with beautiful colours. star wars episode 2 looks fantastic and so does the new spiderman. manual convergence adjustment is great-stay away from magic focus all the inputs you need. good sound, though you should already have a h/t system. this tv has the wide neck crt's and the jump to the swx from the lower model well worth the extra cash

Strength:

Picture quality, lack of glare, build.

Weakness:

2 man lift!

Did the previous reviewer get an $800 discount?? This tv has an excellent picture, and when properly calibrated blows away any current Plasma, DLP, and LCD under $10K. If you are in the market for an RPTV and this suits your taste for size, buy it. It bests Pioneer's Elite and Mits Diamonds.

I bought this TV from CC about a month ago. After almost getting the Sony KP51HW40, I decided against at the last minute because that model was being replaced with another. The newer model was cheaper, however, I decided against Sony altogether and went with the Hitachi. I've been a proud owner of the Hitachi 43UDX01B... which have been a great set for me over the past year. Okay... let me tell you what I think about this TV. First and foremost, this is a very heavy and sturdy TV. Upon delivering it home, my brother and I dropped it while trying to unload it form my pickup truck. Surprisely and amazingly though, nothing happened to it. Very well built. The picture is very nice. I have to admit that I'm not an expert when it comes to tv but I can honestly say that the picture that it produces is crystal. DirecTV signal could be better but I can't fault the TV for that. After one month, I love this TV. I don't really have anything negative to say about it except I wished my basement could've accommodated a the 65SWX20B.
