Strength:
Clarity, color, stability, integrated base.
Weakness:
Remote control buttons are a bit too sensitive to touch -almost hair-trigger. Like many I was wary of rear-projection television, thinking back to what they were like many years ago. 10 months ago I was going to upgrade my 27" Panasonic Ultraflat to a 36 inch model, then started looking at the various projection tvs on display. I was pretty surprised at what I saw. The Mits 45" made the most favorable impression, and that has held to this day. I have my laserdisc player, two divd players and a vcr hooked into it. Plenty of inputs to go around, including s-video and rca in the front! Similar Products Used: Many other televisions - my first rear projection |

Great picture for analog set
Weakness:
none that I can tell so far Bought this set late Dec. 99 and use it for my home theater. Great set for the money. When I went looking I was pretty intent on buying the Sony XBR 36" Wega but I'd read many negative reports and then was steered towards rptv's. I was shocked by how much they have improved over the years. Then I started looking at Sony's 43" rptv set and liked it, and lastly I was steered towards the Mit's VS-45605. What sold me was the Mit's 64 point convergence adjustment vs. 32 for the Sony, lack of need for a stand (another $250 for the Sony) and last of all I thought the Mit's had a superior picture. I fine tuned the set with the Video Essentials DVD to really dial it in. I think this set will last me 5 years or so by which time I'm hoping HDTV sets will have come down in price and I'm banking there will be much more being broadcast than at present. Strength:
great picture, sound, ease of use, and good price
Weakness:
none I'm an audiofile, never been big on television but, this thing is wonderful. I was in the market for a new tube, looking @ the Sony flat, that's a great TV but the Mitsu is even better to me. I have always thaugh of big screens as being poor for the home but not this, it's as clear and clean as a real good television. I love my 45" it's not too big and does not dominate my living room, like most of those best buy things, I can see the complete picture without looking aroundd the screen. If you are looking to buy one take a look @ Mitsu, the only companies that compare or have a better product are Pioneer Elite and Runco, besides that gang nothing compares. Great picture and color, price.
Weakness:
None so far This system so far has been wonderful. The picture and color are better than anything else and we looked at them all. I have only had it for a short period of time so I am not going to waste time talking about how wonderful is. I will say that now is the time to get one. With Mitsubishi releasing their VS-45607, this TV can be had at a great price. I have seen them adverstised for as little as $1000.00. The new 2000 model is as far as I can tell identical in every way with the exception of price and model number. Similar Products Used: Sony |

Strength:
Picture quality is outstanding - I looked at em' all and the Mitsu looked the best to me. Isn't that what TV is all about?
Weakness:
None really, more bells and whistles than I will ever use. I've been waiting to give a proper review. I have the 50" - 50607 - no other place for it here. After spending a month looking and comparing I just think the Mitsu stands out in picture clarity, and the independent dealers I talked to were the first to say that they are best out there for quality. That says a heap. I've had no problems or glitches in 6mo. and am really glad I made this purchase. Similar Products Used: First new generation big screen. |

Strength:
superb picture for a projection TV
Weakness:
lasted just shy of 2 weeks before requiring service I purchased the set from a big name outfit (RC Willey--more on them later) and really enjoyed the quality picture and sound for almost 2 weeks. Today when I went to turn it on, the power light illuminated momentarily and then it went out. Repeated attempts to get the TV to turn on resulted in the same. I called good ol' RCW, and they can RUSH right out here in 7 days to replace it. Several calls to Mitsubishi and local repair shops were to no avail, except to have one genius confirm he's "pretty sure its in the power circuit". This may be a fluke and perhaps I simply got a weak circuit from the factory, but it sure did nothing to convince me to try Mitsubishi again when the customer service rep was so rude. Again, for almost 2 weeks it was great, but the replacement will be a Sony, or Panasonic...or even a Gold Star before another Mitsu. Similar Products Used: none |

Strength:
Great Picture, very reliable
Weakness:
None I have had this tv for over a year and it has worked great. The previous review make little sense since it is based on solely on one failure. His local dealer sucks but Mitsu cannot make a perfect tv every time. Mine works great and I have had a 35 inch Mitu for eight year with no problem. Sony has a lot more problems with reliablity. Ask any dealer who carries both. |

Picture Quality, Component Inputs I have had this Set for over 2 years now and just love it. And "I think I" got it for a steal. I told the salesman I was looking at an SONY "????" and I wanted this TV for $1400.00, he came back and said 1486.00 12 months same as cash. I took it, ran and never looked back. All my friends that come over cannot beleive the picture quality I get from my Big Screen. I got the shield that goes on the front over the screen. And I have had several people ask me if it was a tube TV. Prehaps my line conditioner helps with screen clarity. All I know that it's a great TV. |

Strength:
Great picture quality
Weakness:
viewing angle I purchased this over the Sony MXT-4370D because the picture quality was much crisper in my opinion. Also, as mentioned by others, the 64 point convergence was superior to Sony's autoconvergence. Sony's 43" RPTV requires a stand, and in my opinion just looked cheaper. I bought the 45 Mitsu along with the shield screen for $1399 at Hifi Buys after a bit of haggling. I think that this is the best RPTV in its category. The price is also less than less comparable Sony's and Toshiba's. |

Strength:
very clear pitchure and great sound
Weakness:
remote poorly designed My wife and I looked at a lot of TVs and we feel this one had the best quality pitchure for the buck. We spent $1300.00 and got the screen saver with it. WE went from a 19" to 45" so it is a big difference for us. I have noticed that any diagnal lines (like riggings of a ship or names in the credits of movie)looks like steps, the pixels do not create a smooth line. I think they could have designed the remote a little better. The buttons are easy to bump to change the input or the button for the the menu. It would have been nice to have it light up at night. I do love the set, all of our friends love the color and sound and how clear it is. We turn off the lights and it is like being in the movie house. I really like this one. |
