    Strength:

Bright picture, great color saturation, easy to use on-screen menu.

    Weakness:

    None that I've encountered.

Looked at many big-screen rear-projection TV s. Since I integrated this wonderful wide-screen beast(heavy!) into my rather expensive sound system, I have absolutely no regrets. If you are considering a big-screen format, go with the wide-screen, you certainly will not regret it. Mitsubishi has definetly proved to me why they are the "Big Screen" experts.

    Strength:

Clarity of the picture, vibrant colors, varous picture sizing options, hd upgradeable

    Weakness:

All one unit, cabinet and screen, pretty heavy

When I was in the store looking at the various RP big screen models, they had other more expensive brands, Sony, Panansonic, etc, that really didn't look as though they had as clear or fine a picture as the Mitsubishi 55819. They even had the Mitsu model that was one step lower, and the difference in clarity and color was definitely noticeable.

Hook up it up to a DVD through Component Video or S-Video cable for that matter and this TV really shines - scenes from the Perfect Storm pretty much has you jumping in your seat, the Matrix has bullets spraying in you living room.

It also has an option that allows you to control the image size of the screen, and there are a few larger sizes that don't take away to much of the screen and provide a respite from the annoying letterbox format.

The menu interface is very easy to use, although we did have trouble at first configuring the channel settings for the digital cable box, but figured it out soon enough.

Also Mitsu was offering great deals (no interest and no payment for over a year) and have an optional 5 year warranty, that to me, is a must with this type of purchase.

All-in-all, a high quality Big Screen, terrific picture - the perfect visual component for those looking to finish off their Home Theatre set-up.
