Strength:
Beautiful brilliant picture Features galore Great price value Full 1 Year P&L warranty
Weakness:
None I searched for a large screen HDTV over the last few months. After reading info, comparing prices, specifications, features and quality of picture, I finally narrowed my choice down to this 60" Panasonic LCD rear projection TV. The top Sony KDF Wega, Samsung DLP and JVC LCOS were the other runner-ups. All produced very good pictures and would satisfy any videophile! The Panasonic won my favor because its picture was as good if not better than any of the others, and it was packed with great features. The color, the detail, the edges of the screen were all fantastic, even with non-high definition signals. The four built-in speakers even sound good! Another great feature that is standard is its built in HDTV tuner plus two (2) normal tuners, offering PIP and split screen. If you need inputs, I don't think I've read or seen any other TV have more than this Panasonic. Three (3) component, A/V Input Jacks 2 Rear 1 Front , S-Video Inputs 2 Rear 1 Front, Audio Input (for PC) 1 rear 1 front (C3) , Photo viewer SD / PC card slot, RGB PC Inputs (D sub15) 1 rear 1 front. The picture adjustment to convert 4:3 to full screen is just marvelous! It fills the screen and keeps everything in the right proportion, including resolution. The non-glare screen is really a benefit, especially when you have large windows near-by. The additional features on this model are too many to mention, just go to Panasonic's website (below) and read about them. I have the TV sitting on a matching Panasonic stand, it really gives an elegant appearance. The remote control is easy to operate and has cool red backlighting when operating. The price of this model made it hands down one of the best values in my opinion. The retail is $3995, but it can be found over the net for around $3100. I bought mine as an open box unit and saved big time, $2600 including the stand. The only negative was, I had to drive 400 miles to pick it up, but it was worth the drive! If you are considering a new large screen HDTV, definitely check any of Panasonic's top of the line "LCX" models out, you won't be sorry!
