All the bells and whistles for component input and video.

Extreemly poor "out of the box" set-up quality. Unable to converge projectors using the "consumer" provided set up sceens.

I received my first TV from the local retailer - and immediately found it needed convergence. The consumer provided set-up options barely made a difference in the picture quality. On top of this, the picture constantly shook for the first 60 minutes. After the Panasonic service technician finally arrived and worked on the convergence, he declared defeat and told me that it would have to go to the shop! After much proding, my local retailer replaced the TV - and the convergence, once again, was totally out of alignment.

Panasonic is not trying to figure out if it can be fixed or if it need to be replaced.

If I could, I would return the TV and buy some other brand.

Panasonic needs to get it together on this TV - good technology - poor - VERY POOR - out-of the box quaility and consumer set-up.

Just got my new PT-65WX50 today. As I've discovered in my researching, this model's display is tainted with subtle but noticeable vertical lines when using the S-Video inputs. Unfortunately, my unit is no exception.

That aside, this is a great TV!!! All in all, I'm happy with my choice.

Once I got it hooked up and working, the picture was excellent as, was the sound.

The instruction manual was WORSE than useless -- even the Panasonic rep I called for help admitted the manual didn't help much. The Panasonic tech help line was useful, though -- especially since the very limited directions I got with the TV were in DIRECT contrast to the hook-up instructions I got from my local cable company.

A good TV and well worth the Internet price I paid. Gives you a lot of bang for the buck, but very weak on set-up instructions per the Panasomic manual (though this was improved by Panasonic's telephone tech help). One caution --while my Internet source for purchasing this TV was great, I had an earlier false start with one that required a cashiers check -- then, after assuring me the TV was in stock, claimed is was suddenly "out of stock" and that the Panasonic plant was "closed for training" that weekend so they couldn't confirm availability. (I cancelled that order and got a cash refund.) Make SURE you pay with a credit card!

great picture, massive screen size.

needs adustments, specially on the convergence ,and factory alignment.

this tv set is simply one of the best on the market now.

granted ,it needs adjustments ,but once that's done, the picture is clost to perfect. the price is indeed a bit steep, but comparativly, it's well worth it.

i would highly reccommend this set if you have the means ,but also you need the space for it. anything short of a BIG room ,or basement will not do this tv the justice it deserves.

a word of caution :donot try to to adjust the convwergence yourself. i did ,and it just made things worst, to the point where i was considering giving up on the unit. call panasonic, and the factory technician should be able to reset the tv to factory setting, and then the picure will make you weep..............

Component input (Component input picture quality)

Very faint (BUT NOTICEABLE) vertical lines when using S-Video (but none when using Video, and Component Video), the picture from and Analog signal is horrible, especially noticable when watching animated shows--Simpson's, King of the Hill, Southpark, etc) it does a great job of trying to trick you with the large picture by using some sort of static algorythm, watch what happens when you turn the sharpness up [note: this only happens on the Analog signal--But not on Component in from a DVD player]

I thoroughly enjoy this very large TV. I am dissapointed in the Analog/Digital conversion, but hey, I bought a HDTV to watch HDTV, I can't blame the manufacturer for the fact that it doesn't "blow-up" an Analog signal without a horrible amount of static. When I viewed it at Ultimate Electronics they had it hooked up to a HDTV signal and the picture was, forgive the cliche, "Picture-Perfect". The component inputs are a lifesaver if you are watching a DVD, but I REALLY wish that they had the 5-Cable Digital inputs (although I don't have equipment that could utilize it at the present time)--future DVD players will. I do agree that the TV needs help on the convergence. I think that the price is a fair deal, definately not a bargain. And although I would like to give it 5 stars, I can't because of those few little annoying things.
