Strength:

Great Picture, Value for $

Weakness:

Cannot adjust picture size options with progressive inputs

Purchased the Pioneer TV from OneCall in December. Ask for Jason. He was extremely helpful with suggestions and advice. Good common sence approach. Could not beat their price. Others would only match it after the fact and they would not include shipping.

Very satisfied with the TV performance. Delivery was a bit of an issue as the truck driver would only put it into my garage. This thing weighs in at 419#. A little extra cash offered did not help. He knew the weight and wanted no part of it. Reccommend you get a couple of biddies with strong backs and weak minds to help. Once out of the box it rolls around on the floor easily.

Picture is absolutely stunning with Progressive DVD inputs from Toshiba SD 5109. However, some of the DVD's are formatted where the picture has a top and bottom bar (scope type) projection that cannot be over ridden without switching back to interlaced signals. The progressive inputs definently are short and fat. The interlaced signal while projected correctly, is not up to the progressive signal performance or color.

Currently using cable for TV signal as Denver can't seem to get off the ground with an HDTV airwave signal. Pushing the screen out to 64" really brings out the inferiority of the cables resolution. Attempted to upgrade to a satellite and HDTV converter, but, per Jasons advice, I'm waiting a few more months on newer and less expensive technology. Pioneer is VERY proud of their HDTV coverter.

The remote is pretty good. Works the Toshiba DVD , the TV and my Velodyne sub fine. Has a bit of a problem with my Sony receiver on/off. The Sony remote is a 2 way and works but is is very poorly designed.

While I never did find a retailer who sold both the Elite and the standard Pioneer versions for a side by side comparison, I don't believe there is much of a difference.

Looked at the Toshiba, Sony and Mitsubishi offerings. None compared $ for $.

Highly reccommed this TV. My brother in law purchaced the Elite in North Carolina and paid $2500 more!!! Plus TAX !!

Would have rated the Overall @t 5 if the progressive signal could be altered and had an option for a reasonable HDTV converter price.
