Strength:

Its great when it works. Oh and a previous owner complained about the DVD player firing up when switching between connected components, which is correct. But this can be avoided by naming the components, then using the remote to select which one to connect to, instead of scrolling through the list.

Weakness:

Poor quality and no support from Samsung.

My SAMSUNG died just outside the 1 yr warranty, faulty video board. 5 people I work with bought the same projection TV, the HCP4363W. One person had problems right away and took it back for a refund, but 2 of us face the same problem, not showing up until just after the warranty expired. Apparently its a faulty video board, confirmed by a repair man for Samsung. He said he has repaired a lot of them, and there is a problem. Samsung isnt admitting to any problems and refuses to help. If you order a replacement board the new one isnt even the same part number, possibly indicating a problem with the original part. I would say that 3 out of every 5 TV's is bad odds. The part costs @$300 plus labour, and considering you can get 42" LCD's for @$1000 I guess all I have in the Samsung is a large piece of garbage. Dont deal with Samsung.

Customer Service

None. Once your outside the warranty your on your own. The quote from Samsung was sorry but your TV will require service.

Overall I am happy with this TV. However, 2 months out of its 1 year warranty it started acting up on me. Randomly shutting off. I could get maybe an hour out of it then it would turn off on me, and once it did it the first time, it would get more frequent until it was off for awhile. I actually had to unplug then replug the TV in to get it to turn back on. Samsung offered me no help whatsoever, so I had to drop an additional $120 and get it fixed. I am happy with the TV, but Samsung had no sympathy for someone who spend 2 grand on a TV and it stopped working just after a year. The only other pain is when you switch from say "Cable" to "game" so you can play xbox. When I'm done with "game" input, I have to keep hitting the source button and when it gets to the built in DVD player, you have to wait for it to read the DVD and start playing it a bit (or if there is no DVD inserted, wait until it figures that out) before you can then keep switching till you get back to "cable" input. It takes about 10 seconds, and gets old fast. If I had to do it all over again, I'd look into the LCD TVs, or at least avoid this one.

Customer Service

Samsung's customer service was quite dissapointing. I called to complain, so they gave me an email address. I wrote an email and they responded promptly, at the bottom of their reply said something to the effect "if you would like to reply, call this #...." in which I did, and sure enough they gave me the same email address. I did not recieve a reply from my 2nd email.
