Strength:
Its size & weight! the degree of view(you can still see the picture beyond 45degrees!), Overall looks! Simply a great buy!
Weakness:
NONE so far...... All I can say is, "WOW"!! I am VERY pleased with this unit!! In comparison to plasma, it hangs right with them! And for what it costs, that makes it pull FAR ahead!! It has excellent color, brightness, etc. I was a little nervous because I purchased sight unseen. But, when I hooked it up, I had a grin from ear to ear. I would definately recommend this set to ANYONE!! VERY impressed with Samsung!! GOOD JOB!! Similar Products Used: Sony WEGA, Toshiba HDTVs |

Strength:
60lbs., No built in speakers, respectable picture, excellent support
Weakness:
Black level Actually bought the PLH403W in Oct. 99, the older equivalent to this model. It's amazing. The picture is clear, though with the black-level problems inherent in projectors. I was willing to sacrifice perfect daytime viewing for the clarity and price. |

WARNING: THINK TWICE BEFORE PURCHASING A SAMSUNG PRODUCT!! I chose to ignore warnings from other Samsung buyers and am now experiencing first hand the TOTAL LACK OF SAMSUNG CUSTOMER SUPPORT!!! when something goes wrong. |

None First, I must note that this review is of the PLK-405W; the SLK-407W only adds wideband component inputs. Similar Products Used: Tosiba 40H80 40" Digital Television |

SIZE, SOUND, sharpness, color
Weakness:
LCD black-level problem, Locks to widescreen w/ progressive-scan, slight fan noise, only 40" big :) Ok...if you are like me and checking the SLK-407WX out, you probably are wondering just what the heck "EDTV" means. What is the wideband component input that this has over the previous 403 and 405...and is it worth it? Well...I'll tell you :) Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
As far as projection televisions go, this one has a pretty good picture.
Weakness:
Color: Samsung can never really get the colors as sharp as Sony or Panasonic...but it is half the cost This is the third generation of the ultra large, ultra light, Tantus series televisions. This is as close to a Plasma TV that you can get for under 6K. Why is this so cheap you may ask. Similar Products Used: none |

Strength:
16:9 screen shape, lcd, so no horizontal lines like a projection, plenty of hookups including 2 component, 60 lbs.
Weakness:
havent found any i have used this tv for about 6 months and i love it. was going to buy a regular hdtv ready projection but hate the horizontal lines that you see. you can occasionally see the honeycomb pattern on the screen, but only if you are sitting too close. 8 feet away and you are fine. this unit will up-convert any signal, including off-air antenna to 480p. it is a very revealing picture and especially during sporting events you can really tell when the cameraman does not have his lens focused very well. this is evident when the feed switches from one camera to another. for non live events it is great. very clean, sharp picture. the closest you will get to hdtv without actually having it. i cant wait till i can feed it a hi-def signal. dvd's are downright awesome.
