I too have the same problem whith my Sony KDF55WF655, the blue stars are all over and now the power supply died. I contacted Sony and I got the same run-around and they told me that they placed a recall on their website like if the consumers spend their time visiting it. Since I was a little boy I remember my dad telling us that if you buy Sony you would not go wrong, well I think after all of Sony support for their costumers I will NEVER EVER again buy a sony product for as long as I shall live! |

KDF55WF655 I'm having the same optical block problem many people are having and I was never notified about the recall. I paid $2770 plus $500 extended service plan on 05/2005 which expired 4 months ago. I was happy with the tv unit until I contacted Sony. I'm not buying Sony products any more. They knew about this problem and failed to notify the customers. They claim they did but I don't know how or when as many other custumers. |

I was just about to order a lamp for my Sony Wega KDF-55WF655 but now decided to just go buy a new set from Samsung after reading all the negative reviews on this page. I would hate to spend money and have the set develop the "blue star screen" issues mentioned here. |

This review is to warn all people thinking of buying Sony products. I have the KDF55WF655 Sony LCD Projection TV that I bought in 2005 and to say that I regret buying it doesn't express my disappointent loud enough. But, I must agree that when this product actually worked, the picture and sound quality was good.

Known for a "Optical Block" failure. Goggle the following: "KDF55WF655 Blue Light". Mine didn't go bad until about three months after my 4 yr extended warranty expired. There was a recall be Sony kept it to themselves meaning I was never notified. It's $1,100.00 to repair. I paid $2,995.00 for it. Other than that, I really enjoyed the set. It was great. AQs long as you can get protection from the "Blue light on screen" (usually starts in a bottom corner) it's a good set. |

I am writing this review to warn all people buying Sony products. I have the KDF55WF655 and can't express my disappointent loud enough. Much like the other commenters I agree that when this product actually works the picture and sound is good. But my recent experience with Qualxserv (Sony's maintenance provider) & Sony Customer Support has taken a once die hard Sony advocate to the brink of never buying a Sony product again. I will not go into a long sob story about the maintenance wows, but after 3 weeks, 3 repair visits & a couple of hours on hold with Sony my television is still not fixed..Buyers beware!!! |

Strength:

Weakness:
only one hdmi imput I got the tv in jan of 05. Only now do I have to have it serviced and it is only because of a sony recall for an optical block. I havent even had to replace the lamp as of yet.. Customer Service customer service has been great |

Weakness:
See notes above. Poor quality control, unresponsive support. Do not buy Sony products if you expect quality. It's not where they are focused anymore. Complaint sent to Sony 3/7/2008
Customer Service horrible |
