Strength:
Great picture, component video input, easy to set up and use, center channel mode, nice looking television!
Weakness:
None, this thing is great!! I got this TV about 3 weeks ago and I love it. I picked up a Toshiba SD-1200 DVD player to go with it. Got the whole package here in Houston for around $1550.00. With the DVD Colorstream input, the picture is spectacular! Watched The Matrix first night I had it......WOW! The audio is great as well. I don't have my home theater stuff up and going yet (just moved into a new house the weekend before I got the TV, HT stuff still in boxes) but the Toshiba 50" sounds great by itself. I was really impressed with the built-in sound features ; subwoofer, surround, etc... The features are really easy to set up, and there's plenty of settings to tweak for that "perfect experience". Strength:
Great picture, easy setup, great variety of inputs
Weakness:
Coaxial connection could yield better picture(I don't use it so it really doesn't matter) Great Product. My first venture into a big screen. Got a dss at abut the same time. The picture with the S-video input in fantastic. About to pick up a SD2200 DVD player to finish off the home theater. I only sit about 9 feet away and it's still awsome. Excellent value, especially for an intro level projection tv. |

Picture(not as crisp as i thought it would be) I bought this TV at 800.com for 1289.00. I'm a bizrate user so I recevied a 64.50 rebate from them plus 800.com advertised they would deliver and set it up in my house for free......well guess what, they didn't!! One guy came to deliver it and I had to help him get it out of the truck and then he left after it was put in my garage??? I finally with a buddy's help got it in my basement. It looks nice but i'm thinking the delivery people were rough or something becuz it seems a little blurry to me(even after i adjusted the convergence) I called and complained to 800.com and they gave me a 125.00 credit becuz of the delivery problems. Now I have someone coming in 3 days to look at and hopefully fix it or i'll have to return it(oh boy getting it out of my basement is gonna be a chore!!!) anyway the product seems like it would be great if it worked like it was supposed to. I can't beat the price, best buy has it right now for 1299 + tax and 29.00 delivery fee which means i saved about 310.00 bucks by ordering it on line. I think if it needs to be returned i'm gonna try samsung, anyone out there no anything about samsung??? let me know if you do, good ot bad. Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
This TV has the best built-in sound system I've ever heard.
Weakness:
The convergence on this set is horrible. I should have known that with this TV's low price ($900), I'd be sacrificing something. What I didn't know was that I'd have a TV that gave me headaches, literally. Similar Products Used: No other experiences with an RPTV. |

Clean pic, great on black and white films (compared to RCA this is unbelievable)

Strength:
Great set at a good price, sound is excellent, far more than would have expected in a television, would have been satisfactory without hooking up to an audio system, but that beefs it up, brightness very good, controls are clear, manual convergence is easy to work, good contrast and color Great big screen at a reasonable price (I paid 1300 at Rex)I heartily recomend it and would buy another. Similar Products Used: I had an 9 yr old Zenith; no comparison to this on all aspects. |

Strength:
Picture quality is superb compared to other projection screens, sound system is excellent being that their built-in, sports some nice features, lots of various inputs (2 S-Video, 3 RCA;2 in the back and one in the front with a cover, some A/V outputs in the back and a component input for a DVD) menu layout is easy to navigate and it even looks pretty!
Weakness:
NONE This TV is truly awesome! If you really want to create a Home Theater then there isn't a TV out there that can do the job better then this one. We just got the TV only about a week ago but my friend has one in his apartment and thats how I found out about it first. Since we did just get it I haven't had the pleasure of connecting a DVD player simply because we do not have one. We are waiting for the Playstation2 to be released here in the U.S. to get DVD. That doesn't mean I haven't seen DVD playing on this model though as the friend that also has it had a DVD player. For the week or so that I stayed at his home I watched The Matrix, Rush Hour, Analyze This, Mickey Blue Eyes, Arlington Rd. and some others that I forget. So what else have I seen on it? Well that leaves Cable TV and the VCR. Cable TV looks great, which surprised me a little because I have seen projection TV's connected to cable and the picture wasn't all that great, it was good enough but not great. Since getting the TV I've been watching more TV, simply because the TV is so great. For example, I watched Saving Private Ryan yesterday..... all I have to say is WOW. With just the built-in sub and left/right speakers the movie sounded great! Im dying to get a full setup, reciever, speakers, sub, etc.! Anyway back to the review. As for watching tapes on the VCR its great too, although Im spoiled by DVD, tape still can hold its own, hehe. Conclusion: Anyone, and I mean anyone who wants to have a Home Theater, you dont even have to know alot of techie stuff, BUY THIS TV!! (and no I dont work for Toshiba) This TV is just so perfect and if I did have to complain about something it would have to be about setting up the convergience on the CRT's every couple of days but thats just the nature of projection TV's, Toshiba made it easy to set them up anyway. Its only a small price to pay for such a beautiful TV set. Again if you still aren't sold go check out Toshibas site, email them with questions if you wanted but I have to say this TV is the best as they come. Similar Products Used: RCA 25" w/Guide+ system |
