Strength:

Weakness:
Remote could be a little more intuitive...Perhaps the addition of an LCD screen to see what component you are controlling, and a better means of switching components, rather than the somewhat cheesey little switch at the top...But since I have a nice universal remote, as I imagine most users of an upper-end set like this will, I'm probaly picking nits... WOW!You asked for a summary, and that's about it! I am writing this while watching the super bowl in HD, and I must repeat...WOW! Never have I seen an image as lifelike...Maybe that's not quite strong enough...It looks better than reality. Depth, depth, depth...Great output, great black level, lots of inputs, off-air tuner, two HD tuners, beautiful to look at, even when it's off. If you're in the market, this is a must-look-at set...Don't buy anything until you see it. 3:3 pulldown is not hype. Movies look better on this, than on anything I've ever seen. The scaler is phenominal...Even regular TV looks pretty darned good... Similar Products Used: Well...I replaced a 55" 4"3 Toshiba Cinema Series projection set that made its way to the kid's room, and it's obviously way better than that. I looked at the Panasonic Onyx 50" plasma, and though the image was great straight-on, I'd caution anyone looking into this set to view it off-angle...Pretty serious reflections from the glass on the set that cause serious double vision when off-axis. |
