Strength:
compact, light weight, decent picture for a liquid crystal display. a great teevee for environments where space is at a premium. responsive tuner.
Weakness:
tinny sound, not many features for the price. got the teevee for my home office. was attracted to the compact size, light weight, and easy transportability. so far, the picture has been excellent for the small size of the set. the teevee also gives an excellent choice of input sources (component, composite, s-video, etc.) but only has two switchable video inputs. the built-in speakers are kind of tinny, but that is to be expected by their compact size (the speakers have to be small and flat to fit into the teevee's case. the teevee is still expensive for it's size. 15" lcd computer monitors are dropping to less than $300 each now making a 13" lcd teevee seem kind of expensive, but lcd computer monitors are generally not good for video (too many digital artifacts). the sharp aquos seems to keep these to a minimum. other than the compact size and sheer coolness of an lcd teevee, the sharp is short on features. it has the required parental control and close captioning, but doesn't seem to give xds information. there is a sleep timer, but no built-in clock/calendar. the remote is not lighted. granted, it's a small set, but for the price, you should expect a lot more big teevee set features. i did like the speed of the set. a lot of teevees with digital tuners or digital this and that are annoyingly slow at changing channels. the sharp changes channels instantly. one gripe i have is the combination of buttons you have to push on the remote to make adjustments to the set are not intuitive.
