Paid $480 at ProVantage. This TV is fantastic. I know that the new LED models are probably superior, but for the price I couldn't pass this one up. It's 1080p, 60 Hz refresh (doesn't bother me), and 3 HDMI inputs. The contrast ratio is a bit low, but I do most of my viewing at night. Even with the sun shining into the room on a Sunday afternoon, football games look amazing. The absolute best picture though is from the Blu Ray player. Full 1080p at 24 fps is very cinematic and absolutely crisp as one would expect from a high quality HD source. The colors are spot-on when some time is taken to properly adjust. I haven't explored whether calibration is worth the time--honestly I don't see the point in taking it any further because the picture is so darn good. I have a friend with a new 720p plasma that he paid $200 more for, and I must say I like mine better. The colors on the plasma are way pumped up--oversaturated. It's not natural-looking at all. The Sony looks very realistic, and on certain material (cartoons, sports, certain TV shows) the colors can be extremely vivid but not overly so. Contrast is very good, considering it's only 30,000 to 1. I can't imagine what a "1,000,000 to 1" contrast ratio looks like (some advertise more than that) but I suspect contrast ratio is either non-linear or just hyped. Same goes for refresh rate. If 24 fps Blu Ray is the cat's pajamas, what does 120 or 240 Hz buy you that 60 Hz does not? I have yet to see a compelling demonstration of a high refresh rate. Sure--there's probably a technical difference if you really look closely, but I'm 8 ft away from the screen, I'm not going to see it. Perhaps there's some merit to 120 or 240 Hz, but ignorance I suppose is bliss. Oh, and it doesn't support "Deep Color", at least I don't think it does. I haven't seen a demo of Deep Color so I don't know what I'm missing. Again, with the bliss. This 32" flat panel TV does not disappoint--it's really a fantastic set and easily found online for less than $500. Great flexibility, great sound, and great picture. If you have the bucks, go for one of the newer LED-LCD sets, but if you're looking for a great budget TV that has all you need for true HD and great Blu Ray performance, you would do well with this set.
