Strength:

Good picture for about 8 to 10 months

Weakness:

Very little realibility.
Even less customer service

Purchased Advent 20 inch flat screen (model # (M2055A) and it worked great for about 10 months. Then the dreaded blue screen with no picture appeared. I have called Advent for the last 4 months with no help from customer service. The times I actually spoke to anyone at Advent I was told that someone would call me back. Each time I have called, my calls were not returned. I would not buy any Advent television at any price. This company just doesn't seem to care about customers. If you have allready purchased an Advent television you can save yourself a lot of time by just tossing it out when it stops working. Please don't take my word for it, but see other reviews on the Internet before you are even thinking about buying Advent products.

Customer Service

Customer Service is the worst I have ever seen.

Strength:

It did have a nice picture for a short time!

Weakness:

See above comments!

I wish I had known about this site before I purchased my 27 inch HDTV Advent television! The TV was delivered on May 31, 2004. It got a lot of use. About 3 or 4 weeks ago, it started to revert to the dreaded "blue screen". However, I just turned the TV off then on again and it worked fine. This happened for two days. On the third day, I lost the picture completely. I did have sound. I turned it off and on several times to no avail. I called Advent and was asked if I had the extended warranty. I did not. Basically, "Vic" told me I was out of luck. After much whining and complaining on my part, he told me to send him an e-mail explaining the circumstances and he would see what he could do. I sent the e-mail and received no response. I sent a follow up e-mail. Still no response. I guess he was right the first time: I was out of luck. We just brought the TV for a "free" estimate for repair. Hopefully, it's something simple and not too costly. I would never, never, did I mention never, buy this brand of TV again!

Strength:

nice looking nice picture HD is pretty cool

Weakness:

buzzing noise

I like this tv, the color seems bright and alive and I just recently had the super cable installed and didnt realize I have a HD tv. It's the lowest DPI but it looks nice for what I paid. The flat screen as well as price was attractive. The only down fall is the high pitch noise it emits...I am aware of it but have noticed it can be ignored.

I had the same experience as the others that posted... Immediately there was an on-again off-again humming - very annoying. This set died in much the same way that the others mentioned. After a little over a year I went to turn it on and there was a flicker and then nothing. No sound, no picture. I'd like to also add that during the year that I've had this set it has had very little use, I would compare it to about a months worth of normal use. Fortunately I was a little worred about the brand when I bought it at Best Buy so I purchased their 4 year extended warranty (which I almost never do). I've since returned the set for repair and I'm waiting to see if it can be repaired.

Strength:

pretty looking, when it worked

Weakness:

loud humming noise, poor quality

I purchased the Advent Q2035A less than a year ago and it is already broken. It developed a loud humming sound shortly after I purchased it. I turned on the tv one day to discover that the cable tv was not working on my advent but it was in my oter rooms. The advent only could get the local channels. I flipped a few channels on the advent and "poof" the screen went blank. Now when ever I plug the thing into the wall it turns itself on, but nothing appears on the screen and no sound. Worthless Piece of crud.

Weakness:

Broke after 53 weeks.

Do not even think about buying this television. The warranty is for one year for a reason; it will barely last that long. After about 2 months of use, it began to produce a humming sound. Exactly one year and a week later, the television completely broke. Too bad for me......past the warranty. I will never buy a "cheap"television again, especially Advent.
