Strength:
Good value for the money. Love the features and learning capability of the remote (but I must admit the remote is not very well contructed). Good picture but make sure you have a room that will allow you to be at least 15' away or picture will seem grainy. Great picture for DVD's and Sony Playstation 2 games. Very good picture for viewing movies on HBO, PPV, etc.
Weakness:
The remote sensor is not very forgiving on the front panel of the TV. The 16:9 aspect ratio does not meet the hype, because it can only be used with equipment that is hooked up through component inputs, and WORSE YET, when 16:9 is activated it places to very thick, GRAY, and annoying bands at the top and bottom of the screen. Lastly, watching football games isn't the greatest because of the limited clarity from the broadcast. For the money, this isn't a bad TV, unless you watch alot of DVD's and the above mentioned weakness can be very irritating, but this TV really goes a long way for $2300. Personally, I am returning it tommorrow and getting the 56" Toshiba Theater Wide because I can't stand the grey bars on the top and bottom of the screen while in 16:9 Similar Products Used: Toshiba 40" Theater Wide |

Strength:
Picture Clarity
Weakness:
NONE I don't know who the above reviews were made by, but I can ASSURE you that they do not know how to set up there Picture Quality. I had this TV for 4 months until my 53SDX01B model came in stock, and I have not seen a better picture quality on any HDTV. The SDX is a litter better, but the FDX is the best on the market. Better than the SONY. Similar Products Used: 53SDX01B |

Strength:
A reasonable price for the features the television offers.
Weakness:
4:3 aspect ratio can be a hinderance when watching DVDs (damn I wish movie companies would stamp dvds with both aspect ratios). They do it for some - and then not others! I have owned this set for about three months and truly enjoy the viewing experience it has given me. (no, it isn't perfect, but given the bucks spent - it's damn good!)Much of what is seen is contingent on what the broadcast or quality of play from Directv. It's big, it's bold, it's fun! I will also say that in order to really get the theatre experience, you'll need to have a home theatre sound package - the speakers provided with the tv SUCK! However, that being siad - In my opinion, it offers good value and a fun viewing experience. Enjoy folks. Similar Products Used: I looked at quite a few - Sony, Toshiba, Proscan, Panasonic, and Samsung. I kept coming back to the Hitachi. |
