Strength:

Price, Picture for the price is wonderful. Great Sound

Weakness:

Sometimes too much detail on the Blacks when using s-video when connect to a SAT.

Let me tell you first about the weight it is one heavy TV. Make sure you have a Stand that holds a 32" tv or larger. Picture is very nice. I have my dvd contected via compontent. And my S-video for my SAT. Sound on this TV is wonderful. To be all honest I even use the sound of the TV instend of my AV system sometimes, It is that good. It is a very solid TV for the money. I use this TV is 9 feet by 10 feet room.

Wow!!!! What a set for the price. "Most BANG FOR THE BUCK" Award in my world. This set has a brilliant picture, colors are true and when I played the superbit version of Dracula the picture and sound was outright amazing. The Hiper sound gives you the surround sound effect for those who do not use a Home Theater system. I purchased this set as my extra T.V. for the living room. My 61" Sony is in my Home Theater Room. I really like this set..I find myself watching it more and more, especially when my son and his friends take over the Home Theater Room. I would recommend this TV to anyone..this set is great. I use a Sony 550d DVD through a tributaries S-Video cable with this T.V..

Strength:

TV worked okay for 3 years

Weakness:

TV self destructed after 3 years with little usage

After my TV self destructed last night (a brief weird noise, simutaneous loss of picture and power followed by a familar smell of burning electronic material), and felt I must enter a review. I bought TV new about 3 years ago and used it perhaps an average of one or two times a week for a football game or movie. Previously used 20-25" TV's, so 32" TV was an upgrade. No complaints until last night, but based on the premature failure of my unit, I'm giving it a value rating of 2 stars -- expensive for an item that will fail so soon, and an overall rating of 2, since I'm very displeased with this TV. Actually my ratings are probably on the high side, 1 or 1.5 being more appropriate. Note it only comes with a 1 year parts and labor warrenty. Buyer Beware!

Strength:

The sound is remarkable when compared to other simular sets. Inputs make for a very nice friendly system configuration. 12/12 month warrantee

Weakness:

Requires a fairly strong signal from the cable for the best picture and sound. One or two macros on the remote would be nice, but none in the price range provided this feature.

The 27" Sony Trinitron died after 11 years. I'm not sure if that is concidered a full usefull life of a TV these days but it was a opportunity for a upgrade to a larger unit. There are a number of units in this price range and it was tough to select the best unit for the $$. The main factor in selecting this unit at the time of purchase was the sound. The BBE sound is switchable by using the remote and the differance is remarkable when it is engaged. The reason that it is switchable is that it does not sound very good when recieving a weak signal. There is lots of static and tearing of the sound that is not present when BBE is switched off. A amplified splitter down stream fixed that problem and every thing looks and sounds great now.

After getting the unit in place at home I was very pleased to see how many inputs there are and how they work together. I'm not sure how to explain how it works but we are able to view a cable box and VCR independly of each other without switching the vidio input. This feature eliminates the need to switch vidio inputs with the remote and that increases the spousal acceptance factor. With all of the inputs I was fairly confident that the unit will be viable for a future that may include satalite, digital cable or set top HDTV reciever.

This unit also has a selectable picture settings that allow you to alternate between your customized settings, the factory defaults and a setting called film. This setting creates a very soft picture that is pleasent for some movies in a darkened room. This feature is activated with one button on the remote

This set does not look as good as the HD flat screen units that cost 3 times as much, but is a great set among it's class. The only reason that I gave 4 stars for the value is based on my inablity to find the unit any cheaper.

Strength:

Set-up, very functional remote, picture quality, overall appearance

Weakness:

Talk about bang for the buck! This set has many good features without paying a lot extra for a flat screen. In a side by side comparison, I saw no differance between the two. When you use the component video inputs the picture quality is stunning. If your shopping for a TV, take a hard look at this one.

Strength:

BBE sound, Component Video Input, Overall Silver Look

Weakness:

Have not found one yet, other than it isn't a flat-screen, but this biiger than a 27"- wait thats a strength, for the same price

I wanted a TV mainly for Video Game Play and movie playback big enough to see the people on cause I love widescreen/letterbox format. I didn't want to shell out more unnecessary cash for a flatscreen, I wanted something big- for a good price. For the money this TV is it. I passed up all the 27" flatscreens for this 32". It has BBE enhanced sound, which makes a huge difference between the regular speakers found on regular Tvs. I got a small room, and this room makes it look smaller.

Strength:

Appearance, ease of use, sound (BBE), quality, repair history and the price. All AWESOME !

Weakness:

None at all

I am a very happy with my purchase. I researched carefully because I thought this is a "major" expense on my behalf. I looked at the Sony Wega, but I was not impressed at all. It was too expensive and very very heavy. This TV is the "closest" thing to the flat screen. One advise, if you decide to use the component video output, make sure to go to the menu screen and make that it is "on". If not, when you hook up a DVD player using the component video output, it's going to be on "black and white" picture.
