Strength:

Component Inputs, A/V Inputs, and S-Video. OK Picture. Great sound.

Weakness:

Not much, the picture and glare could be better.

Too bad there was no Guide+ avalible at store. Awesome for price. 27" Sony WEGA have no component inputs. Check one out, and see for yourself.

Strength:

Component inputs, nice picture, relatively flat tube, great sound.

Weakness:

Doesn't seem to compensate for loud commercials. Sometimes I find myself turning the volume down for commercials and then turning it back up when the show I am watching comes back on.

I have just upgraded my system with a new DVD player, digital receiver and TV. I knew JVC had a lot of products but didn't know how good their TVs actually were.

When the sales person showed me the JVC TV and said it was the best TV he had for the money, I was a little sceptical. However, after seeing the same DVD played through several sets side by side and comparing the prices, there was only one choice. The JVC had a great picture and great sound. Colors were noted to be especially bright and vivid. Good thing I measured it though because it is a little wide. Just fit into my entertainment center. From what I have seen so far, the TV has to be one of the best values out there for what you get.

Strength:

Color rendition

Weakness:

Comb filter

I have the 32"
A very good TV. Use the theater setting to get the best color. The standard setting is way too hot.

The comb filter is not as good as the Panasonic but that shouldn't matter for DVD's and other clean sources. I haven't recieved my DVD player yet but I hope my luck is better with the component inputs.

I also get slightly less light output from the corners of the the picture. This can be easily seen on white backgrounds. This could be cause by my unshielded speakers about 2-3 ft. away.

After removing an unshielded speaker away from it, the greenish tint has disappeared. Now I can use my expensive, custom-made component cables again.

The problem with the green, as stated in the page for the D200, is the component inputs. This is also prominent with direct-view sets from Toshiba and Sharp. Using the s-video jacks will negate the green-gray tint.
Those manufacturers are basically giving you those inputs for free, and it shows. I purchased custom cables for $125; now I can't use them. I had to buy an expensive s-video cable for this tv.

If anybody wants a direct-view tv with component inputs, go with Sony Wegas. The wegas' component inputs can be adjusted and calibrated separately from the other inputs.

Otherwise, picture quality is about the same as the Toshiba, and it's a little cheaper. However, there's no excuse for the crapped-up component inputs.

I'm keeping this until next year when I get the new Toshiba 40" widescreen rear-projection HDTV.

Strength:

Easy to use

Weakness:

the connections don't seem the best quality

Very happy /w the system. It's actually a 32D500 and did not have an option to add my two cents worth.
I'm a big Toshiba fan and my DVD and VCR are from that make and I have had excellent results (not the same from two RCA TV's and other products, never again)
The JVC had better audio and that was the main reason. Picture is the same as the Toshiba. I live in an aprt. so I can't turn the volume up, so a DDigital setup is not in the works right now (next year?) then I will also get the Toshiba 40" Wide screen - I saw it and it awsome -
The remote it just there, nothing fancy and it doen not glow at night like the sales guy said. :(

Strength:

The picture is really clean. The audio is leaps and bounds above my old 19" Zenith

Weakness:

None so far

I shopped for a while for a good, yet moderately inexpensive T.V. So far this model has met and exceeded my expectations. The picture and audio are real clean, especially using the A/V and component inputs. Overall an excellent T.V. for the price.

Strength:

Beautiful Picture, Lots of Inputs

Weakness:

None yet...

I got the 27D501 when my Mitsubishi decided to pack it in. I looked at the Wegas, but for the price I couldn't justify the flat screen on a 27" set - maybe for a 36" but that's totally out of my price range.

I have a Sony 560D DVD hooked up to the component connections - looks great. Cable is nice. So far I am very pleased with this TV.

Strength:

Component inputs, low price, A/V Compu-link, sound

Weakness:

Comb filter seems weak, remote control is uncomfortable

Austin Power's shirt seemed to dance even while he stood still thanks in part to the comb filter. Otherwise, the unit seems to deliver good on all other counts.
