Strength:

The picture - truly has a "wow" factor Clean, conservative design All the features a man(or woman) could ask for in a tv (well, no PIP, but who cares)

Weakness:

It's a monster-the biggest 27" TV I have ever seen. Measure carefully - It might be too big.

I was looking for a flat screen tv to use in my bedroom. I wanted a tv that had a great picture, offered component inputs, and had a compression mode for 16:9 DVDs. I looked at Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba - they were all very good, but a tad pricey. On a whim, I walk into Sears Electronics. I look toward the tv display (swell of angelic voices) and there it is - A JVC flat screen tv. 27" of crisp, clean video. What a picture! If you want a tv that throws a great image and doesn't cost an arm and a leg, take a look at this tv.

Strength:

-top notch picture for an analog tv -raster compressed 16:9 mode for anamorphic dvds. -great colour accuracy

Weakness:

-its silver. why oh why does everythinghave to be silver these days? I just want a freakin' black tv, ok? -the remotes so called "illuminated" feature is a joke as it only lights up the volume and chanlle controls, you know, the big ones that are easy to find in the dark anyway.

(price is in CDN dollars) My only complaint about this TV is that Future Shop now sells it for $479 CDN, which is 120 bucks less than what I payed for it. Other than that I am extremly pleased. I was shopping for a TV that featured a 16:9 mode, and left only Samsung, Sony, and JVC. Sony was nice, but the colour was not accurate to me eyes, and it was signifcantly more expensive. The Samsung had a soft image and more visible scan lines. This on the other hand had very good colour, the theatre pro setting lives up to it's name, IMO. 16:9 compression is eesntial if you can not yet afford a digital widecsreen tv. It makes a world of difference with anamorphic dvds. Sound quality is average, but it really doesn't matter, if the dvd/show/music is worht listening to it goes through the home theatre system anyway. One thing i will mention is how great the tuner is in this thing. It chnages channels instantly, unlike my grandmas brand new panasonic TAU which takes forever to catch up if rapidly switching through multiple chanells.

Strength:

Picture quality, sound quality, ease of set-up and use.

Weakness:

I still have to get used to a grey TV as apposed to a black one.

Consumer Reports rated this the number one 27 inch TV, and they did their homework! The picture quality, audio quality are awesome. We didn't need a PIP TV, and for the price, you can't loose! I recomend this if you are looking for a 27 inch TV and don't need PIP.
