NO sound at all. now

this memorex tv was great for the first 6 months, then the sound starting going in and out. took it apart, dusted it out, etc. still bad, in fact no sound. upsets me that the pisture is gorgwous, but have to turn the set on in the other room to hear the television in the living room. stupid memorex, ironic with its sound declarations, this tv is the pits.

Thanks Guys for the tip! A Friend had a Memorex MT2251 sitting around unused and it looked nice. I asked if I could buy it. His roomate asked 150$ for it. I thought it was reasonable for the size. But I didn't know about it so I checked out on the net. and found this site. I will never buy Memorex. I'll stick with Sony and Friends.

I have a 17 inch or so Emerson TV made in 1989 and still works! I only have sticky weak keys on the remote which is taped around the battery pack! Looks good still. I think Emerson is cheap!

I have owned my Memorex TV since 1993, I have only had one problem, and that was that I threw my remote away with some purple hull pea hulls, I am still mad. I did get a universal. I must say that the TV is great and I love the price that I paid for it. A 32" TV for $114.00, I say that it is a good product

Guess I got lucky as opposed to all the other reviews. Got it as a gift 2 years ago. Unit has been excellent in all respects. Remote quick working just this week (and I need to go to an OEM to replace it) -- it just couldn''t take the amount of times it was dropped on the floor. I''ve considered getting another one, but after these review, afraid of pushing my luck.

Do NOT buy this Television. I do not know if I just got a poor one or not, but the Memorex 2251 25 inch color television I have absolutely stinks. The picture quality is annoyingly jittery and static ridden. Memorex had absolutely no advice to offer me on the problem, either. "Try moving the TV to a different location in the house". Other TV's work fine in it's current location, and moving the TV to a new location solved nothing. When I asked memorex for further advice they simply stated they have no more advice to offer. This means the TV goes back to the store.

Started out real pretty

Weakness:

Stops working after a few months

It's broken and there is no way to get it fixed. The TV looked good at Target and worked nicely for my 10-year-old daughter for about five months. One day it just did not turn on. After reviewing the manual, we tried to reset, but that didn't work.
Target would not look at it, since it was after 30 days. They said call Memorex. The Memorex lady was nice and gave us an address for repair. When we took it to the repair shop, the owner had not received a work order, and he claimed that he would never even consider repairing a Memorex. His fee to even look at the TV was $80, before repair costs. I am a single parent and can not afford to fix it or get another TV. I never had this problem with a TV before, so I'm caught totally off guard.
Don't buy a Memorex TV or electronics from Target.

Strength:

fairly good picture/ good sound(while the speakers last), cheap, dual audio/video jks

Weakness:

not reliable/ speakers started to humm after 1st week of use

not a bad deal when you think about what you paid for it, thanks for the warranty and the respectable service at walmart. I am on my 2nd tv now in 4 months. well the dual a/v jacks were great for those hardcore gamers. was actually impressed with the picture considering the price.
I would actually recommend this product for those who can't afford an expensive tv. instead of buying a 13" big brand name you can get a 20" or 21" Memorex for ...probobly cheaper!
great tv to put in a childs room ( if they break it ...get a hold of the manufacturer, even they will believe it was a defective television).

overall I give it a 6/10 (only because of the cheap price)

Weakness:

NOT A GOOD PRODUCT

I PURCHASED THIS TV BECAUSE OF THE PRICE. THE TV WAS WASN'T USED MUCH. IT WAS PLACED IN THE GUESS ROOM. THERE WAS NO WEAR AND TEAR ON THE TV. IT SIMPILY STOPPED GETTING RECEPTION. TRIED CONTACTING THE COMPANY TO HELP WITH THE PROBLEM AND ALL I GOT WAS AN ASWERING MACHINE. BECAUSE OF THIS EXPERIENCE I RECOMMEND FRIENDS AND FAMILY STICK WITH NAME BRAND PRODUCTS. TARGETS DIDN'T DO MUCH TO HELP. I WILL NEVER BUY ELECTRONIC PRODUCTS WITH THE MEMOREX LABEL.

Strength:

Affordable. Good Sound. Good Picture.

Weakness:

Plugged in the unit and got good reception with a standard, attachable attenna (no cable hook-up). After one week of sporadic viewing, the picture bombed, and smoke began pouring (literally) from the sides and back of the unit. Immediately returned product to Target, where the electronics manager said he wouldn't buy a Memorex TV because of their poor reliability and performance. A poor reflection on a previously-trusted brand name; but whoever makes these sets for Memorex obviously isn't spending a lot of money on quality assurance (in my opinion).

Memorex 20" Color Television with flat screen and dual (stereo) speakers.
