Overly bright red hues, sound sucks, but thats what home theater systems are for! I got mine, you got yours? The cover for the front control panel comes off VERY easily, pops on easy as well, but its the coming off I don't like.

Purchased this TV after winning an Ebay auction. It had some cosmetic issues, but ones I was willing to deal with. Got it home and set it up. Everything worked perfectly, DVDs with an analog connection looked pretty damn good with the flat screen and such. Next day I went to the store and bought a progressive scan DVD player and some component cables. Hoooked that up and popped in Lord of the Rings. Holy freaking crap!! What a difference!! I now have a HD cable box from Time Warner and I must say its a blast watching the Laker's games on ABC in widescreen hi-definition! It looks so much better! Damn, I just wonder how much better it will be if I get an Avia CD and get it setup properly.

Clear picture, calibrated picture looks beautiful. Plenty of inputs. Search/scan function.

NO SQUEEZE!! (It was there last year, why did they take it out this time!!) Bowed horizontal lines. It weighs a ton, not easy to move (although it does have built in hand holds).

This review is actually for the 32hx42 but there is no listing for that model yet. I honestly like this TV a lot but unforunately there's a few flaws that have made me return it. First off, straight lines are not straight. I realize geometry problems are common in flat screen sets so it was to be expected and I figured any problems could be fixed. Unfortunately there is a slight "bow" to horizontal lines on this set (and every other one I looked at) that is clearly visible when watching letterboxed movies. I went to three different stores (and had a replacement delivered) and they all had the same problem. According to the manager at CC this is caused by the curvature of the actual picture tube. The second problem with this set is the lack of an anamorphic squeeze function. There is an "aspect" button on the remote but, according to the instruction manual, this button does nothing. There is also a menu option to change the aspect ratio but so far (in 480i and 480p, no 1080i yet) this option has been greyed out. I'm really surprised Panasonic decided to take this function out of this year's model, unfortunately this problem made this set unacceptable for me. On the plus side the picture is really clear on 480p input and it seems to do really well with sd material (I thought better than the more expensive Sony). The colors are a little oversaturated but I managed to get them pretty close to where they should be by using video essentials. The sound is ok, I generallly don't use TV speakers but it could be worse. One very cooll feature of this TV is the search feature. When watching one show you can hit the search button and it will open up 3 pip boxes on the right of the screen. In these boxes the tv will scan through the other channels so you can find out what else is on without having to change to pip channel. Overall I think this TV has potential. If Panasonic had included the squeeze I would have been able to overlook slight geometry problems. I'm actually glad this set wasn't perfect for me. After trying to find a replacement for weeks I decided it's not worth it to spend the money for a 32" when, for the a similar price, I could get a 47" ws rp model.

On screen menu sucks. Badly. Gaudy colors, inane layout, options that don't make sense. Also, slight though they may be, I wish the geometry and convergence errors were not there.

I purchased this after returning two Sony Wega's due to unacceptable picture geometry problems. So far, I am quite impressed with the Panny. I didn't expect to go for a digital TV, but this one was the same price as the new generation of non-digital 32" Sony Wegas, and I liked the Panasonic picture better! Win-win situation there. On my TV there are slight geometry and convergence issues at the extreme edges (say 1") of the screen. The picture in the middle is spot-on perfect, near as I can tell. I love the automatic sensing of the 16:9 and the ability to actually use the progressive scan output of my DVD player. The overall color balance is outstanding, after appropriate setup, suffering from only a mild red push, which I will fix as soon as I can get ahold of a service manual. All in all, I'd give the TV 4.5 stars. purchased the CT32HX40 read good reviews so I bought enjoyed it for a year and one month, turned it off and a pop sound was heard tried to turn it back on and nothing. It has been in the shop for 2 months this tv should have lasted longer than that. What a mistake Ive talked with panasonic and its in questions fix it Panasuckit

You need to get the TV properly calibrated, but thats true for all HDTVs.

This is an awesome TV. The picture is outstanding. I havent had a single problem. Most of the people giving bad ratings seem to be pretty clueless. You have to buy a disc like Avia, or Video Essentials, to properly calibrate your tv. Anyone willing to spend $1500 on a tv shouldnt be complaining about its generic 3-D audio, they should have an HT system. My current set-up: DVD/CD player - Denon 1600 Receiver - H/K AVR8000 Center Channel - Klipsch RC7 Fronts - Klipsch RB5.II Surrounds - Klipsch SS1 Sub - Energy e:xl S12 For watching DVDs, or playing Xbox (every game runs in 480p, with a DD5.1 track :D ), this set-up delivers on every level.

HEAVY!!! Remote and OSD lacks panache. Speaker sound is just adequate. Spatializer feature is almost useless. Expensive, but still less than Sony XBR.

I just purchased this set after some in depth review of all the 32" HDTV tube sets (this is the only size that will fit the amoire). I actually decided that the Samsung and the Pansonic had the best features and pictures for the price. I actually wanted the Samsung bbut they are on "indefinite backorder" so I went for the Pany instead. So far so good. Like other reviewers I agree that the picture requires some manipulation to get the best picture. Progressive scan dvd''s (panasonic dvd/vcr combo)look great. The 16:9 mode although seems appealing a 32" set is really too small to have a really "theatre-like" experience. The spatializer sound is pretty much worthless when used through the tv speakers. A Dolby Digital receiver set up is really necessary to get any theater sound. Also I found that the spatializer sound does not work well with DVD''s too much "hum" of the background sounds over-powers the center or voice channel. Like others I fiind the remote very disappointing and hard to program with other devices (esp. DSS). On screen menu is "odd" looking but it works. I guess companies most deliberately try to make their OSD''s look unique or original. This one certainly looks different but it functionality (simplicity!!!)suffers as a result. Overall, a very good HDTV however I can''t help feeling that the Samsung was a better deal at $1400 with a better sound system. However Korean reliability is an unknown factor for me. I know what to expect from Japan!

Wonderful colours, excellent picture clarity, and looks great with progressive scan DVDs.

So-so remote (I''m using my Kenwood receiver''s universal remote instead - it''s great!), confusing menu system, lunar scale weight (albeit better then Sony), and price is a little high. The red power LED is a little too bright as well, but that''s easily fixed with some clear tape and a pen.

I''ve been using the CT-32HX41 for just over a month now, and I must say I''m impressed. I sat infront of both the Sony XBR 450 and this set side-by-side for quite awhile before choosing the Panasonic - but Panasonic''s colour, price, and (lighter) weight were what finally sold me. This set has vibrant colours, and a very clear picture - even when using a (good) analog cable signal. I''ve read all of the reviews of this set posted on this site, and was careful to check for all the common problems - geometry, blooming, discoloured or dull bands, and noises - and my set has absolutely none of these problems. I''d have to conclude that some of the previous reviewers must have either had an earlier revision of this set (my TV''s box was labelled as a CT-32HX41C - possibly a third revision?), or just received a bad set - possibly from a poorly made batch. In any event, I must say I''m very pleased with this set. I also have to admit, I was dissapointed with this television when it first arrived - the manufacturer''s settings are just awful. The colour was off, the picture setting was so high everything was looking pixellated, and even DVDs looked poor. After a good week of playing around with the settings (with my old 27" RCA as a guide), I was able to get a crisp, clear, and vibrant picture with both DVDs and an analog cable signal. In fact, I''m astounded at how good a strong analog cable signal looks on this digital TV! So in conclusion - I''d strongly recommend this television - especially if you''re considering spending the extra money on the Sony XBR. Just spend some time configuring the picture settings to your liking - it makes a world of difference. For reference, I''ve got mine set to: Colour temp - warm Colour - 23 Tint - 30 Brightness - 38 Picture - 34 Sharpness - 30 You may want to play with these settings a bit - I like the brightness a little higher then normal.

Damn heavy!

Just purchased the set at Sears after they price-matched the prices I found on-line (via Mysimon.com) For $1200 dollars, this is an excellent set! NO NOISE during playback, crisp, clear and almost 3D-like video. Numerous hookup options and slim case make this set a bargain. High pitched noise, bad menu, geometry problems, cannot manually select 16x9 ''anamorphic'' mode.

It''s a nice set if you can stand the noise. To clairfy, when this television displays bright images, it emits a high-frequency hum from the back of the set. I was prepared to exchange this set as defective, but when I returned to the showroom, the dealer''s floor model was making the exact same noise. I imagine it wouldn''t bother some, but I considered it intolerable. I''ve also heard back from some folks on the Internet who have this problem with both the 32" and the 36" (although the dealer''s 36" Tau seemed silent). Other nits: the menu interface uses Panasonic''s confusing ''roller'' menu, the up arrow selects the item below the current selection and vice versa. This set allegedly has a 16x9 ''squeeze'' mode for viewing anamorphic movies. My DVD player apparently does not transmit the correct ID-1 signal, so I was never able to see it in action. There is no way to force the mode; the only menu options are ''auto'' and ''off''. I also experienced the geometry problems that are frequently mentioned: the bottlom left corner is not perfectly straight, and ''scrolling tickers'' like CNN''s, or letterbox bars on movies, really accentuate the problem. Ultimately, I upgraded to a Sony KV-32HS20, and I am very glad I did. The Sony provides perfect geometry, no more transformer hum, an excellent remote/menu system, and a 16x9 anamorphic mode you can force. You can put me in the ''not satisfied'' camp with the Panny.
