Strength:

Was told it was the best 32 inch avalable.

Weakness:

Possible elaborate tweaking neccesary

To others that have this model of television. Please e-mail me at Goodeandloud@yahoo.com . I have been trying to get this set to look great and have failed to find the right combination of settings. Also I understand that have a tech come and tweak the set is the best way to get a decent picture.hopefully i will not have to result to that. For almost a Thousand dollars this set should look great right out of the box. Please let me know if u have the key to this sets inner beauty.Thanx

Strength:

SUPER picture, decent built-in sound, external unit dimensions, decent remote, number of inputs, component video in, price

Weakness:

no 16:9 mode, can't save USER MODE settings, somewhat reflective screen

Needed a "good, solid, quality" TV that would hold me over until HD is more mainstream (figure 5 years). Wanted to stay under $1000 and NOT be forced into new TV cabinet.
I had narrowed down to this and Sony FS series 32" based on picture alone. Other than Sony having 16:9 mode the Pan picture is VERY clear, GREAT contrast, VERY crisp yet "smooth" with brilliant colors. Sony actually had a gritty quality when watching analog video. Even with letterbox and losing scan lines, I find the picture to be extremely good via DVD/Component video. VHS and Dig cable (via S-Video) also are beautiful. Video adjustments allow a high degree of range. And this is before AVIA calibration. Panasonic was also the only TV of 32" that would comfortably fit in my existing cabinet. Sony's are either tall or too wide and JVC "D" series and Toshiba Cinema didn't compare picture/price.
In short - this is a beautiful set with a great picture, nice input compliment, "size" friendly. I will never use built in Center Channel capability and rarely use built in sound so I can't comment (although built in sound is more than decent, as far as built in goes).
Drawbacks:
Screen is fairly reflective - which appears to go hand in hand with it's high degree of contrast. But this didn't affect me since I have good control over lighting.
Wish there was memory for 2 video settings because Component video is a fair amount brighter and more color saturated than S-Video.
16:9 mode would have been great but in this price range, given the quality of everything else? (I can dream)

Given my personal requirements of size, short term use and not yet delving into Progressive Scan or HD devices, this TV was the hands-down winner (and I demo'd other TV's for over 3 months). Through in the price and it's a no-brainer.
TV $799 + $80 shipping + 5 year in-home "everything" warranty + 2 meter AudioQuest Component cable = $1040.

Strength:

Excellent Picure, Tons of inputs for all my devices.

Weakness:

No 16:9 mode. Poor

I bought this TV the first week that it came out for $1500 Canadian, straight from a dealer friend. I compared it to the Sony FS-12 Wega, using the standard Sony demo DVD, and the Panasonic clearly had a better picture, which lead me to buy it.

However to fully enjoy this TV you have to turn down the colour control quite a bit.

DVD reproduction is fabulous as is DirecTV. I just miss the 16:9 Anamorphic handling that the high end Wegas have. (Although someone who wrote a review bellow seems to have found a way? Can someone tell me how they have successfuly done it).

I definitely recommend this Television as it is the best you can get besides the sony XBR.

Strength:

Very good picture, number and choice of inputs

Weakness:

None for me

Went on a mission to find a replacement for my Pro scan that was on its way out. This set has the best picture of all the 32 inch sets out there. Had to reduce the picture and brightness controls a bit,the result is a bright and clear picture which i am now pleased with.
