Strength:
excellent color after calibrating myself with Video Essentials, sharp picture, good skin tonal coloring, ease of use, s-video input
Weakness:
lack of component connections, doesn't tell you if a station is in stereo, only one s-video input, noise if used from audio out to receiver for your sound system This is a very good television. Like I said it has an excellent picture, especially after calibrating it, factory calibration was pretty poor. The sound on it is pretty good, nothing to write home about, but then it is only a television. I like the PanaBlack tube, very good contrast. And the black cabinet seems to make the 'box' of the tv dissappear in correct room lighting. I've seen grey/silver box sets, example being WEGA, and the 'box' is very annoying, it doesn't go away. Overall, I give it a 10 out of 10, I have no complaints about the set, other than I wish it were bigger, but then again that's not the tv's fault!!! Strength:
Value for money, PIP.
Weakness:
No component video, or dual-tuner PIP. I have this television as part of my home entertainment system and I've been quite pleased with its performance. The picture quality is crystal clear - especially with satellite reception. A lack of component video input may annoy a videophile but I probably wouldn't notice the upgrade. I'd recommend upgrading the video connectors though, as a noticeable improvement can be seen from the standard manufacturer's "quality" product. Panasonic tends to be mid-range in price for TVs and I think it holds its own against some of the more expensive brands. I'd recommend the 36GT24 version for the casual video viewer. It's not flat screen or digital quality but it's nowhere near the price either. Similar Products Used: GE 27" TV. |
