The Panasonic CT-36DV61 is meant to serve as a transition piece as we move into the digital TV era. It has a standard 4:3 screen, not a wide screen. However, its resolution and progressive-scan capability make it suitable for displaying digital broadcasts (when used with a compatible set-top box, such as Panasonic's TUDST51).Even though the CT-36DV61 is capable of displaying 1080 interlaced, it can't possibly resolve all the pixels of a 1080i image. On the upside, the CT-36DV61 can certainly handle computer graphics, up to SVGA resolution.Videophiles take note: The CT-36DV61 uses a 3-line digital comb filter, not the better 3D-YC variety. As a result, it may exhibit some artifacts, especially during sequences of fast motion.
