The TV had a great picture while it worked. We purchased for my grandmother. Unfortunately 7 months later it quit working. It has been at the authorized repair center for 1.5 months and now needs another picture tube sent because the first one they sent was defective. We requested a new TV from Philips. They have filled out an RA request and have promised an answer in 4 - 6 weeks. So if you don't mind going without the TV for 3 - 4 months its not bad. |

Good picture and sound but I can sympothis with the previous review. Although I had no problem with my Philips TV I did have a problem with my Philips VCR and I ran into the same problems with their warrenty policy. I understand that occasionally a product will fail, but Philips does not understand how to make the repair/replacement policy as painless as possible for its customers. First, don't take it back to the place you purchased it from. They don't care, they already have your money. You will need to find the nearest service center and drop of the poorly manufactured item. Because we all have so much free time on the way back from the service center, stop at a park and wonder around for a few hours. Hell, I should be thanking Philips for giving me something to do with all this free time I have. When you get home, forget about the fact that you spent your hard earned money on a product that you no longer have the use of why it is getting repaired. When it is finally repaired, don't forget to bring your check book. The length of time labor is covered under the warrenty is carefully calculated to ensure that the maximum amount of frustration. (3 months for a vcr, they put a lot of faith in their products). |
