Sound quality is terrible. Has buzzing and vibration from speakers during all sorts of sound pitches. To avoid buzzing and vibration would have to have sound so low you can hardly hear it. Svc rep diagnosed problem as an inherant design fault in Proscan tv. Proscan's suggested solution was 'turn the sound down, or buy external speakers". Nice customer service huh!!

Can not recommend this TV based on my experience with it and the horrible response of company to a problem they are aware of.

Looked at Sony and Toshiba, wish I'd got one of those now instead of Proscan because of poor customer service.

Easy to use remote and on screen setup menus. Channel guide. Picture quality as compared to similar resolutions in other sets.

Remote will not control DVD players. 40" Width due to the side mounted speakers (choices are limited for entertainment centers, etc.). They do sound nice, but I don't use them. Lack of component inputs.

I have owned this set for 2 months now and have been extremely pleased. I was looking at the Sony Wega when I came across the Proscan. While I won't say the Proscan is better, it definitely held it's own at half the price! The Sony with it's flat screen blows it away when viewing from an angle, but at normal viewing angles, the Proscan's picture quality is a little better (IMO). Could be just the out of the box set-up is better on the Proscan so it looks better in the store. Either way, at the price I got I don't think anything else comes close.
